Despite extenive search, I want, need but just can't find this item. Please help.

Did you tried the magnifying glass at the storage? Because with that you can fin every item, no matter which character the item wears or has it in its inventory, nor what storage it is could be stored in. If you still cant find it, write a ticket.

Edit: I found out now the only spots magnifying glass doesnt work at, is the Inventory of Ships and probably of every Horse, Donkey, Elephant Inventory.
