A class exists based on these advantages and its role.
The one and only way to *balance* a game with multiple class is to let players play the meta with ease (Like moba)
with each buff and nerf, you just change the meta ratios and a class moves up or down the Tier list.
Reason why in any League championships barely 20 champs are pick in the pull of 150.
it is strictly impossible to have *balance* classes. it's totally intangible,
Each class has an identity. This identity will always offer him a severe advantage in a given role and situation.
Instead of respecting the roles you want to spin a wheel and create an infinite number of cycles where most of the classes will have their * S-Tier glory days *.
You spread pure hate on the current top S class, and you will stop once its yours.
And those who played the class become obsolete thanks to you, the wheel is still turning. It's a stupid vicious circle.
devs should stop working for nothing. There is no science behind class equilibrium. It doesn't matter what the game is. It's pure religion.
Remove the fuel cost from the Gear Tag and no one could complain legitimatly complaint anymore. because everyone will be able to play meta without cost.
even in a fps. you won't go far if you don't adapt to the meta and play knife when you have 80 people playing sniper. Competition is about adaptation.
So, according to this guy ^ everything is fine and succ wiz dominating large scale is fine, and no need to change anything, just adapt aka tag succ wiz.
Yes, that sounds like a fun game. Really A+ game design. Everyone use the M16 because it is best, amazingly fun fps game you have there.

Its not bad design. Its how the whole reality of choice work.
What is a source of fun is suggestive. A lot of people find fun to play flying simulator. For me, it is in total opposition.

A lot of people prefer the total chaos of Meta shifting and infinite pointless work and rework for making some time gameplay change for renew the player experience. I understand that, just stop with the balance delusion.
Pearls abyss like Epic game, Riot game and hundreds of other multiplayer game studios will not abandon the principle of meta shifting.
I'm just asking that PA facilitates without going through the wallet. There's no point in fighting the meta. People should be able to follow the meta without sacrificing progression.

The only way to end this Vicious Cycle, and my favourite, is to get out of meta shifting and stop this victimhood mentality.
It will come down to people's choice, who some will knowingly make a less optimal choice and be passionate and shine in it.

Dead on...only way to balance classes is to make them all the exact same.Any time their is a difference their will be an advantage and a disadvantage.FPS is way easier to get more balanced due to the fact that their usually isn't classes and guns can easilly be changed.
Not possible long as 100 to 300 Whales each spend $100,000+ each for paid progression and PvP victories. Our only option at this point. Is to reward developers that deviate from this P2W trend. By spending lots to promote their Non-P2W MMOs. It's risky because you could end up like myself after backing Star Citizen on Kickstarter back in 2013. But at this point it's our only other option. Other than just flatout quiting the MMO genre. Like a huge portion of gamers already have.
We can still not give them moeny though. sure they get a lot through whales but think about how many of your friends buy VPs, loot scroll, artisans, etc. If us normal people put our moeny elsewhere, they are bound to notice.
I think people need to understand that class balance is something that is not as easy as just changing a couple numbers and that's it. There are 21(?) classes now each with 2 different specs. Then you need to balance all 42 of those specs for PVE, 1v1PVP and Node wars. It's an ongoing process as they have said many times over the years and classes are never going to be perfectly balanced. Classes have had a lot of changes lately as well and protected area finally got changed, so I wish people would stop asking "when are classes going to be balanced" and try to understand that it is an impossible task that they are trying their best with.
