For those who own a AMD 7000 series card, the other day AMD released their Fluid motion frames beta driver. Fluid motion frames allow you to increase your frames by an incredible amount (about 2x). At first it sounded like a magic trick but nope, I can confirm that it's the real deal. I enabled it for BDO and I'm getting 200fps with fluid frames enabled. Without fluid frames its around 70-90 fps. This is all with the manual enable, to really enable it the game must have FSR3. Hopefully BDO implements it because it will make lots of players happy.

FSR3, DLSS3 support would be nice. But what you mean "to really enable it" - you claim you DID enable it already. Or you expect then 300 FPS once FSR3 is there?

So, if you already own a 7xxx series amd card you can enable fluid motion frames via the control panel for any dx11 or dx12 game regardless of if it supports it or not. From my understanding FSR3 uses a different version of fluid motion frames that is a lot better, so that one cannot be enabled unless the devs implement it.

So yes, fluid motion frames are enabled on my end currently but not the FSR3 variant. Everyone should be pushing for PA to enable FSR3 because this is a game changer, it's AMAZING.

*Note with FSR3, everyone would be able to use it even nvidia users.

I downloaded the preview driver and enable it, but i got a message saying it is incompatible with the game's display mode. How did you get it working?

Ok so i got it working however here's a summary of my experience:

Issues:

Firstly lots of stutter of my PC overall (i'm not sure what's causing this). Games are unplayable.

Have to play in SDR mode (huge difference as I have a high end OLED Monitor normally playing on HDR). Quality looks significantly worse.

Good points:

FPS literally doubled. From 120ish to around 260FPS which is amazing.

If they can fix the HDR and stuttering issues this update would be insane

How do you check your FPS in Game?
AMD Metric just won't work for me no matter what I do.
In MSI Afterburner you cannot see the generated frames only the source fps.
Meaning the real fps should be arround  double the amount of what msi afterburner shows me.

Anyway I would like to check some of the amd metric information but it shows shows N/A for everything which would be interesting :D

In GFX options menu there is also an FPS counter showing.

In game frame counters will not show the frames from fluid frame gen. Only amds frame ui from adrenaline control panel can do that.

  • AFMF adds frame generation technology to boost FPS outside of the game’s engine. To see the resulting FPS, use the AMD Software Performance Metrics Overlay. Support for third-party performance monitoring tools is not available at this moment.
