Hello Adventurers,

I've recently acquired the "Repair" knowledge from Tranan Underfoe (Velia's blacksmith) and I've tried the self-repair way on different items.

In my opinion, this function could have been  useful in the beginning of BDO, back in the days when it started, but today every player has a quantity of silver around millions, there is nothing pushing a player to use it except for the linked knowledge!

In 2023 there is no need of an anvil, since the time taken to repair an item is not even comparable with a quick-click-full-inventory-repair on a very cheap cost. 

At this point, the only true purpose could be for Roleplay representation, screenshots or videos..

It is and has always been an option to avoid using mem frags, by using the repair via anvil function, which has a higher chance of restoring durability when repairing. Back then, people did use it because Mem frags were mostly unavailable on the market, and locked behind high preorders. Nowadays, mem frags are still expensive, but they are basically always available on the market, so the need for the anvil is way lower. 

So I agree, the function is outdated nowadays, but for a different reason. The repair via blacksmith has always been far more convenient
