Fellow gamer,

I have since a long time been in the nodewar scene. I've lead guilds and enjoyed many sieges.
Alliances are the sickness which hypoticates danger to the end of our PvP evenings.

Most players sit cosy in their 30-40 man guild, switch alliances every 2 months the easiest way to explain no progress is pointing at someone alse.

If those 30-40 man guilds would be responsible for their own progress, many would disband and we would have consistent bigger guilds of people actually working together.

At this point in game, with the excisiting alliances, there is no incentive to work together as a group of people. The game has become a more solo game so far.
We advocate for 100 man guilds where people work together towards a common goal, and to improve in nodewars.

Vote to stop the madness of alliances and give us back our co-operating guilds with strong and intensive leadships instead of people pointing at each other.

Comment below if you agree and vote for removing the alliance system!

You should join any world boss, there is like ~50 guild leaders of 1-10man guild per channel. Guild system dont exist in BDO, just like reasons to join guild, not to mention its filled with snowflakes who have  main character syndrome and instantly leave once you start pressure them for their selfish behavior. Working together is clearly not about BDO.

yeah, it has been pretty rough on the node war scene in NA. Many guilds that were fielding node wars just joined up with whoever had a similar mindset which effectively limited the number of guilds and took willing leaderships away. Many other guilds just created a shell guild so they can fit 50 more members which kinda defeats the point of the alliance system to begin with. Also more people in guilds means fewer people to recruit making starting a new guild even more difficult than it already is. Fewer guilds also mean fewer fights since naturally having a smaller playerbase leads to fewer guilds contesting nodes. NA has a really big snipe problem partly due to alliances.

Literally, the only objective positive is that 100-man caps are easier to fill since they no longer require nearly 100% attendance but honestly if they just took the 100-man caps down to 60-80 to compensate for smaller guild sizes that would be beneficial to large-scale health. We have seen that the server can't handle multiple 100s of people using abilities, calculating damage, calculating healing, people pinging regroups, calculating damage on structures, etc so it really wouldn't be a massive drawback.

They don't even have to remove alliances. Reverting the 150-man cap to 100 would be enough.

I strongly wish PA would reduce participant caps for these large wars. 100v100v100 etc etc is still something that strains the abilities of the game engine and servers and often provides a less than ideal experience for the players. 40m, 60m, these sorts of numbers tend to work far better for smooth and stable gameplay. And I think reducing some caps is part of the solution when you start talking about capping guilds at 100 members and breaking alliances.

One benefit of cutting alliances would be, guild war declarations could be easier to manage. Right now there's a layer of complexity in having each member guild of each alliance declaring war when open world action occurs

Another benefit is, the guild ranking menu in-game allows anyone to easily search & see guilds, but it isn't immediately clear which guilds are part of which alliances unless you track it via external community efforts  - so removing alliances would mean the guild ranking menu in-game is a more relevant source of truth than before.

Yet another thing - PA still has not fixed the item-linking feature in Alliance chat. Players to this day still need to open a whisper prompt, link item in the whisper prompt, and then swap mode to alliance chat, in order to get item-linking to work. Remove alliances and you can scratch that bug off the backlog and call it a success!

I think there's also a possibility that preventing groups to conglomerate 150 members might cause more smaller node war groups to splinter off and still exist actively - like instead of one 150-man alliance doing 3 wars in a week, you could have a 100 man and a 50 man (or even a 60man if you count the people currently in a waiting list or something, they wont fit in a 150m alliance but they would fit in 2 separate guilds)

The idea has me curious. Is it necessary? I don't know about that. Am I curious what would happen if we removed alliances, and do I think there are some benefits? Sure. Do the benefits outweigh any downsides? Dunno. But it's worth thinking about.

I disagree, in current pvp scenario if alliances vanishes all small and medium pvp guilds would die. Contrary to popular belief of those small to medium guild growing to large guilds, they would instead stop warring and since open world has been killed there are no place in BDO world for small to medium pvp guilds.

PA also has the grand idea of 100 man node wars and sieges. Good luck filling up 100 people in 100 man guild.

I have been in leadership of medium to large guilds and it is very hard to motivate people to come and do node wars and sieges.

So nope. Alliances need to stay unless you want 5 large guilds warring about themselves every day.

indeed max limit for siege/nw participants per guild should be 70-75 and max limit for guild should be 100 max, so that you have reserves and that all the same people dont have to be at every nw/siege.

Just give guilds the option to have up to 125 members (so you don't need 100%) attendance to hit the limit in big NW/Sieges.

And add way more uncapped NW for smaller Guilds 30/40/60/80 every day. Without allys we would have like 12 guilds on the uncapped nodes right now (3v3 between allies most of the times right now) and that would not be fun for anyone and the smaller guilds would die.
