Needs might be a bit strong, but this has happened to me and several others, and now with the other quest tied to the npc its more likely to happen.
Normally, after I turn the quest in for the bundle, I grab the next one. I didn't grab it last Garmoth spawn that I went to however, but I did grab the quest for 10 Garmoth Bloodstones. Because I have that bloodstone quest active, when I went to Garmoth just now and saw the quest icon above the quest givers head being blue, I assumed I had the quest for the Garmoth bundle. I looted Garmoth, went to the NPC and found out otherwise that I did not. Garmoth lasted 4 minuted tonight. I got there about halfway through that and almost missed it.
Now, obviously that's on me for not having the quest, but even before today I've done that a couple times and have known others to do so as well. Its something that can happen to new players as well, so I have a suggestion for a change to prevent this.
Make the quest require an item gained from Garmoth and make the item expire in 1h. This would literally dummy proof the loot aquisition, and any dummy that has done what this dummy has done would love this kinda change. lol.
That would be a great idea. It also helps not frustrate people coming back to the game who don't know about the quest.

Exactly. I'm not new or returning, so this instance was fully on me, but that doesn't mean we can't dummy proof it for anyone/everyone else.
