The T9 horse will be available again, even for those who already completed the challenge. As explicitly stated during the ball:

I wouldn't worry about trading right now because it's being removed from the game soon according to the Calpheon ball.

New example of broken trading news system. In the latest newsletter, there's a rumor for skyrocketing clothing prices in Valencia City. Says rumor is going around the western part of Valencia City... Are they serious!?!?!?! Do they know how big Valencia City is? How long am I supposed to spend wandering the western part of Valencia (spent about half an hour here with no speech bubbles in site) looking for speech bubbles that may or may not exist? Since I spent half an hour looking for them, (maybe I'm just stupid...) and found none, does it mean I just haven't found them or does it mean that the rumor is false? Once again, only PA knows and I say that is stupid!! If I jump through the hoops you set up, leaving me with no answer is stupid!!! Sorry, I know they're going to rework trading again but the reasons they site for the new rework don't appear to address the base issues with it.

Also, see people are still saying trading is going away, yet notes from the "Ball" say it is going to be temporarily withdrawn to be reworked yet again. Wish I knew what to believe here.

Hopefully they go back to the backups of this game: which they should keep in case they design seomthing that is so flawed, copy and paste files and give us the old system back.  All they needed to do was update the prices due to inflation and make Mastery have value.  Really easy fix and traders would have been happy.

Now they created this life-sim that doesn't pay off and got rid of most of the trade NPCs.

Real improvement that.

Please bring back the old system, PA.

I'll get to trading as soon as you do!

6:00 am (PST) newsletter had a great example of broken story. Food category had three "skyrockets" in Valencia, Eilton and Olvia. Checked all three and each had strong positive speech bubbles. In Olvia, wild boars had destroyed the crops, in Valencia a mother couldn't feed her children and in Eilton fuit vendor was running out of citron. All of them completely agreed with the rumors in the newsletter. When the 10:00 newletter came out, my 1.4 million per-item purchase had gone up a whopping 30k per-item. More of a sky flop than  sky rocket I'd say... Is this supposed to be fun????

Replying to this and the other one a few posts up from Geazer...

There are several rumor spots where the 'increase' and 'decrease' rumor spots are right next to each other. So you can have a newsletter rumor of 'rise' and go to the spot, see toons with bubles, and they are actually confirming the 'price decrease', meaning, rise is unconfirmed, don't buy.

I've been doing this for a month now (using those screenshots) and I've NEVER purchased incorrectly. NOTE: Numerous times where the opposite rumor bubbles have been seen. Basically: only trade rumors that are 'rise' or 'skyrocket' and 'confirmed via the screenshots'. You never loose money, and if you only trade percentages between 130-200, you make 30-45 mill per 19-crate trade run (well, I'm m13 and I think that affects how much you make?). Some days I get maybe 2 trade runs (50 mill) and some days I've hit 900 mill. Average seems to be between 50-450 per day (I only do 3 newsletters a day)

Hit me up in game and I'll be glad to help you out... (walk thru a newsletter)...

Will try using the screenshots. I do only buy when I see bubbles that do seem to support the rumor in the newsletter and never buy if there's any that' don't agree. Haven't compared the bubbles to the exact conent shown on the spreadsheet's screenshots though. I find it most frustrating when there's no bubbles at all but maybe the spreadsheet will help me find them. Will give it a try. Regardless, thanks for the tip!

I agree with the amounts you're seeing when I do get a good trade. I'm m10, so probably in the same range as you. I usually buy 44 units, so 2 Forest Path wagon loads. Makes it so I can get up to around 100 mil in the best circumstances for a buy when it works.

Thanks again.

Probably half the time there are no bubbles. That means that the rumor is not confirmed (the NPCs simply are not there).

QUESTION: I can only buy 38 (2 trips of 19), because if I carry more than 19, I loose the speed the buff on the forest wagon.  Is there a way to increase the weight that the forest-path wagon can carry? OR are you just giving up the speed buff? And if you are giving up the speed buff, I'm wandering if that causes more 'crate losses' from the thieves? I track everything (just curious) and out of the last 48 trips (48 * 19 = 912-crates) I've LOST 3 (to the thieves). But that's me, always with the speed-buff. I'm curious if you are giving up the speed-buff, are you loosing more in transit? (and how much... your way may be optimal, give up speed to carry 3 more per trip, if the loss is less? It IS a semi-afk activity after all... speed isn't that big of a deal)

I use a Manos riding crop for speed and it seems to always work. It increases speed by 20% normally and 30% for Forest Rush (I think that's how it goes...). Ashamed to admit I don't know about a speed buff perse for the wagon. Would be interested to hear about it. I do have all four gear pieces at +6 (wheels (speed), cover (load stability & max power), badge (max weight) and Flag (more DP & max power)). Since getting the cover with enhancement, never had any load-loss. And never get any effect from the bandits with this combo either.

On the no-bubble rumors, I find them frustrating just because I'm not sure if it means I haven't found the bubbles or the bubbles just don't exist. Especially true if you get vague locations for the rumor like "Nothern part of Valencia City..." That seems lame to me given how huge Valencia is. IMO should always be straightforward. If I go to the trouble of stashing a toon at every possible city for a rumor and jump through all the hoops to check the rumors. Shouldn't have to wonder if I did it right in the end. Anyhow, have beat that horse to death at this point I guess. Going to try using the spreadsheet link you sent. Might help that issue somewhat at least.

Trading used to be one of my main activities in BDO. You can see evidence of this by my Master 10 trading level. Never made great money at it but liked that I could do it without constant concentration like is needed for grinding/fighting.

When the new trading set up came online, at first really hated it. After a little while though, got used to it and had at least some success with it. Now that I clearly understand it. My assessment is that it could be incredibly cool but execution of its functionality imho is a failure. Have three main complaints:

1. Too many trades fail to make money even when their (verified) news is all positive. After trying different strategies, finally settled on only going for trades where all available news is positive for the caregory and verifies what is shown in the newsletter (or is opposite of what's in the newsletter towards the positive direction). I can spend up to an hour chasing down the "rumors" in the letter and buying the trade goods. After dilligently doing this would expect to have a good result most of the time. However even after jumping through all the hoops, trades are still successful less than 50% of the time. Incredibly frustrating to go through all the work and then lose millions of siver on the deal over and over.

2. The second complaint is that too often there is no real news (in either direction) behind what's in the news letter. Haven't got an exact percentage but would bet it's no more than 30% of the time that there is any news of any kind behind what's in the letter. When I have to run a toon all the way to Grana only to find no speech bubbles of any kind where they're supposed to be, again really frustrating! What does it mean?? Does no news mean what's in the news letter is wrong? Or, does it mean this news is just useless? Or, does it mean I just haven't found the right place for the speech bubbles? Guess only Pearl Abyss knows the answer.

3. Not enough positive news in the news letter. Given the large amount of effort required to do a trade when you include chasing down the news for it, then driving the wagon around far enough to trigger the distance bonus, I don't even do a trade unless there's at least one "skyrocket" rumor and no verified negative news about the category. I'd bet I look at at least 15 or 20 newsletters every week and less thant 10% of them have a story worth doing all the work for. This means one or two trades a week after spending literally hours chasing down the news stories. And after all that effort to have a success <50% of the time when I finally do get a promising rumor makes this a losing proposition to my mind.

Bottom line: It can take hours to go through all the motions to plan and execute a trade and then to be in a situation where over 50% of the time I lose up to tens of millions of silver makes the whole thing a bad joke imo. Have given up on trading at this point. Like I said at the beginning though would love the new system if it actually worked. At least there's bartering which I think is successful.

They remaking the current trade system over because it is shit. They didn't listen, talk to anyone in detail  that was actually doing it actively, because if they did we wouldn't have gotten such a garbage can outcome when the change went live.
