The term "for this event" fits perfectly into the full context.  The event they are referring to doesn't drop many items so it would make more sense to not be part of a regular loot table.  While many past events would fit into something like replacing black stones with event items as they are fairly common.

The phrasing pretty much gives it away also.  Naturally, there is no confirmation on all events, past events, or even future events.  The phrase is specifically used to clarify THIS EVENT doesn't impact rates.

Hopefully, this will become the norm and ALL events will be handled this way.  THAT would be something more product and improving the game.

And not ironically at all, as much as Smiley likes to White Knight for the game he doesn't actually work to improve it.

Event drop items do not disturb normal drop? So tell us why low lvl zones drop events items more often. Och because low lvl zones mobs have higher drop rate. Higher drop rate  = more event drop. So event drop don't have separete drop rate chance!

Same was manos gear event, many high mastery and manos lifeskillers report that "caphras and shards disappeared". I used all my alts and main life skill char and I felt the same: caphras and shards drop rate has been reduced to zero. They do that becaue each player get nice manos set. 50 000 players, all with manos? Consequences? Tens of thousands of additional caphras and shards in game.

Silent nerfs are standard in this game.
