For being a game without a doubt the best combat system in the MMO genre with also stunning visuals/ visual effects and character creation it doesnt feel like an actual MMO. Its just solo content, and the "group" content is still solo content but requires other people otherwise it'd be too 'difficult' to do alone. There is no real incentive to group up because all the group spots are the same concept of the solo ones just the mobs are a bit more tankier. And dungeons? what dungeons? oh the dungeons u complete for the one time completion rewards because doing it as repeatable content is just not viable but most importantly fun. I want to suggest some fixes on how to improve group content.
1. Increase the silver/h at group spots
All group spots should make the most money ex. trash loot at their own respective zones, and AP levels. There is no reason for content that is supposedly "too difficult" to do solo and requires help from other party members to yield less rewards than a solo spot with similar gear requirements. And I have nothing against the people who want to grind by themselves, u can still do those things, u just wont make as much money as people in a group spot.
2. Remove the XP penalty when in a party
Don't know why this is here, if someone knows can u tell me? Imo its a dumb mechanic, why penalize people for grouping up with friends/family/partners/guildies/other online players. (The game seems like they WANT u to play solo)
3. Revamp all group spots to have random events that can occur
U know how u guys added the calpheon elvia rift mechanic? yeah do that again but make it better and different for each zone, maybe after a certain amount of (x) mob kills or (x) amount of time has passed, an interesting mechanic unique to the zone occurs. This will not only make it feel different when grinding at the group spots in each region it will also add some much needed livelyhood. For example at trees a text can occur not a server wide text but only those in the area and in a party will see followed by a boss spawn or wave of mobs or atmosphere change with mutated mobs. Also there is 0% chance of these events occuring if u are solo.
4. Buff the loot at group spots
And I do not mean the raw trash values, because I already stated that in the 'silver/h' section. I mean make exclusive group only drops. No do not do what u did with Dekhia Oluns and the debo earring. But increase the drop rates significantly at group spots for rare drops and actually make the party looting system viable. (party leader gets all, free for all, or raffle). Also the option to pass on a drop to give others a higher chance of obtaining the rare drop. Additonally if the mode is set to party leader gets all there is a 1hr window in which he/she may trade the rare drop to other players IN the party. New players who join or have left and rejoin the party are ineligible for trading.
5. Redo ur dungeons
Dungeons are the staple of a MMO yet nobody does them why? well because nobody wants to play a live action puzzle simulator. Go back and revamp and do a complete overhaul, have u guys actually played ur dungeons and realized how boring they are? Look at other MMO dungeons for some inspiration. But if thats too much work just increase the rewards from the chest exponentially and actually make dungeons yield the most money/h in the game bar none. No reason for dungeons to be boring AND unrewarding. At least if its boring but can make lots of money it will incentivize players to do them because making silver is the only linear way of progressing upwards in this game.
I think that is it for my rant today, if u made it this far I salute u. And for those who didn't want to read because I know a bunch of text is intimidating and daunting at first glance ill put a TLDR.
How to make group spots better?
1. more silver/h (higher trash loot number and values)
2. Dont divide the XP when in a party
3.Add in game random events specific to the spot
4. Increase rare drop drop rates
5. Redo the dungeons
Thank u for ur time.
