An open world PvP game, where you can get banned for open world PvPing!

Nice change indeed!

Open world pvp is different than open world griefing. PvP is a consensual event. Griefing and ganking is when one player is doing the aggression and the other player isn't willing participating. HUGE difference. If you can't understand this you can't understand the difference between PVP AND PK. For whatever reason, western players think the two are identical.

One doesn't penalize you, the other turns you red and gives you karma. Think about it.

So anyone who come to take your spot = ban.

Because by using DFS or ALT + C or DecWar to take your spot, he is disrupting your gameplay.

Maybe they should just create PvE servers where PvP is forbidden (like everyone is asking for years), instead of banning their players for playing the game how they like to play it?

You know just as well as I do that is not what they mean.

They mean specifically targeting and hunting a certain player/guild and preventing them from playing the game. Not someone coming to "your" spot and killing you until you leave that spot and go somewhere else.

Now if someone would come to your grinding spot, kills you and even when you leave keeps following you and killing you until you log off completely - that would be considered disrupting gameplay.

I can see your point, but the other player can just switch server?

It only has 15 minutes cooldown and the guy who killed you, have no idea in which server you switched to.

Some players find it fun to pay their Karma points in order to kill other people (be it killing people riding horses / killing a guy who is chopping trees / entering a grind spot to kill another player without caring about the spot etc.).

This is how they like to play the game.

Actions have consequences and you pay for the guy you killed with Karma points.

If they are not allowed to spent their Karma points however they want and they are going to get banned for using a system created by the developers, then what's the purpose of the Karma system?

People were warned about this mob feeding/griefing stuff, just like they were warned about things like tent spam at bosses and pks at bosses to prevent players from looting. People keep getting warned about things and refuse to change behaviors.  Eventually they are going to make changes that most benefit their profit margins...which means ensuring that the bulk of their most paying players get to enjoy the game.  That bulk is highly likely newer players, as vets have already spent the bulk of they money they are going to spend.  People are going to either learn to listen to warnings or deal with the consequences for not listening.

Then the correct bans at Pearl Abyss should be firing their top level employees.  They are the ones are responsible for the toxic game environment and specifically created the game that way.

They are responsible for everything

The overcrowding and limited resources - Responsible party Pearl Abyss management/owners

The ability to knock people off horses - Responsible party Pearl Abyss management/owners

The encouragement and ability to destroy others trade goods - Responsible party Pearl Abyss management/owners

The forced PVP environement - Responsible party Pearl Abyss management/owners

Karma Bombing and Mob feeding - Due to lack of resources Responsible party Pearl Abyss management/owners

Lets start at the TOP of the food chain where the real problems begin.

A lot of the customers just wanted to play an MMO in peace.  To life skill and grind at own leisure without limited virtual space.

Don't let Pearl Abyss blame the customers for their bad choices and lack of good judgement.

Yup, the game is DESIGNED to breed competition, which will always breed toxicity as people get salty.

That's like banning people for killing eachother in Fortnite or something, utter idiocy.

Ok here is our ingenious plan!!!

We have 1,000 customers.

Lets make a game suitable for 150 of them and let them fight it out.

Then we can blame THEM for being toxic and disrupting each other.

And by disrupting each other I specifically mean, "On a case by case basis determined by a 3rd party not involved in the situation at all, subject to their discretion to ensure unequal and varying penalties.  Could it be any more clear then that?

It only states they couldn't stack (unless the Olivia boost is considered a "stackable" buff).  And that it wouldn't apply to characters below 50.  Which at this point doesn't really seem that important with the current exp rates.

I actually agree with you 100% on all of these points.  Problem is that Pearl Abyss is not that type of company.  They will never take responsiblity for anything.  They may give some lip service PR statement and possibly through you a coupon for the cash shop, but that's about it.  I learned that recently with that combat xp/skill xp (formerly transfer) coupon.  I already knew their customer service would be less than exceptional, but they really showed me where they are at in terms of owning up to a mistake (in this case conflicting product labeling/wording).  Weeks after the fact...they did add an exceptionally overpriced version of the former free coupon though...for $$$$$$$.  That's after they told me to go $%^& myself.  I'm just saying, this company has an extensive track record of ignoring their own accountability in any situation.  All of that said, we have grown to know how this company operates, so its like when you deal with the police and live in a police state....best to keep your head down and not draw attention.  When you see daily threads on the forums about the same behaviors ...every day...
