As a not hard working player i love the changes!
Free and easy stuff to enjoy the game are aways welcome! :)

You're joking, right?

It won't be easier if they increase the cap past 50. It will be much more dumb, though, than doing lifeskills with different chars starting each of them from Beginner and seeing them grow. As other people said, "immersion".

The confusion continues.  We need clarification statements from PA, and it damn well better include "we are adding together all experience from all characters".  Even better would be "we have reconsidered, we will keep separate skill exp per character". This is yet anbother example of "who asked for this".

And no, keeping separate life levels displayed per character but operating at the maximum level achieved for a skill across all characters is the same or worse problem,.  In that case the 'combined' operational level should be the sum of experience from all characters.  Otherwise any lifeskilling done on any character but the one with the maximum level is wasted in terms of experience, unless it were to become the new maximum. For most, this would mean family lifeskill gains would only continue on the characters with the max level for each skill.

Just don't go there at all.  It's not just the numbers, it's the character uniqueness at stake.  Such a change would most reward those with the least investment in lifeskilling.  I understand the appeal: you only have to do the work once.  That's exactly the point, it completely negates the work done on any other chracters in a family. As mentioned up thread, what next? Does everything become family only?  Are alts to become only dress-up dolls?  Because, with respect to lifeskills, that's what this change would do.

To address one of your questions: Many, many players asked for this for a long time.

To address one of your questions: Many, many players asked for this for a long time.

And why should PA cater to this crowd?

Let's build on the logic of family-wide stuff: Why shouldn't we have family character exp?  Because it blows to spend so much time leveling up every character, right?  Let's ditch our unique, special characters for the sake of convenience.

If people can't invest the time, they shouldn't get the same rewards as those that do.  If you don't work, you can't eat.

I bet just as many people would like to have their characters be unique and specialized, enjoying this current aspect of the game.  Soon, if some players get their way, nothing will be unique, and everything will be the same in this game.  At that point, they might as well have just one character that can do it all, and you can switch classes/genders on this one character.  Nothing will be special.

Small details matter.  It breathes life into the game.  This game shouldn't just be for those people who can only play an hour every couple days.  But, if they want to be rewarded for less work, they could create 1000% life-skill exp scrolls you could buy from the loyalties shop.  That's as much p2w as I dare recommend.

If done correctly, there is zero resistance in the community. That is why. Only people who come into every discussion to say "I do not agree, I have been here forever and I do not want anything to change, if something changes, everything will be ruined" tried to make some weak counter-arguments.

Slippery slope logical fallacy is not very useful to rely on, albeit it has been very popular across human history. "If you give homeless people some basic safety net, everyone will become homeless, no one will do the hard work, everyone will want everything for free, everyone will be allowed to do everything, society will disintegrate."

My characters are definitely not going to lose their uniqueness, if that is your main point. My farmer will be farming, sailors will be sailing, cook will... you know. I cannot imagine how your characters would immediately lose their uniqueness. Having guru 1 cooking on 15 characters makes them unique? Which one of them is more unique?

I think 95% people would be okay to the changes then if:

1: All experience across characters gets added (so you lose none of your hard work)

2: Life skill levels get increased to say Guru 100+

As long as they do it that way and no one loses anytyhing experience I would totally be fine with it. Heck if they do that for Breath, Health and Strenght as well I am all for it. (aka make it family based + new max + add all exp together)

Wow. Yet another reason to say goodbye to this game and dedicate my free time to more worthwhile activities. Everything happens for a reason.

What about the players who spent $ or silver on coupons/costumes (particularly since they just had a sale on all that stuff and are still being sold), are they going to get refunded on those after this Uno reverse card is played?

I have no doubt that this will never happen.  Not saying agree with that. But I can't think of a single game company that has ever made major changes to a game that affect players like this EVER refunding anything.  And they unfortunately have no legal reason to do so either.
