You're joking, right?

It won't be easier if they increase the cap past 50. It will be much more dumb, though, than doing lifeskills with different chars starting each of them from Beginner and seeing them grow. As other people said, "immersion".

Just because the cap is raised past 50, doesn't mean they'll make it harder to reach. They COULD, keyword again COULD, squish the XP for all future crafting for upper levels.
Not saying they will, but it is a presumtion to think they'll just continue off the current progression.

Also you are making a huge assumption casual players care about 50, let alone past 50.

is there any news on this upcoming change , when we can finaly push lifeskills agane , as a Player with many G50s maxout at 100% . i like to play lifeskills i want and push em unlimited and not do shit lifeskills todo something .

SO PA HOW DO U LIKE TO CHANGE AND WHEN ?

I, and most people I know, don't know what characters to lifeskill on now? Do we level our highest lifeskiller so THIS level will become our family level? OR does it even matter, if they combine exp?

I'm bringing up another character ( Scholar ) and I love her, so she will probably become my main. My main has always been my highest lifeskiller. So am I going to waste my time leveling her? Or should I continue leveling my main. Or should I even lifeskill at all until we find out how they are going to do it?

A fair question.

I'm just leveling and using chracters as normal, because it is a natural, not an arbitrary thing.  According to reality, this character is good at that, and that is what the character does.  When the game renders reality illusiory, they had better combine exp for the sake of everyone who has worked so hard creating special chracters all these years.

honestly just getting access to Auto Sprint on Horses alone is worth it. Its honestly redicouls that Auto Sprint has anything to do with Training Level and not the Horses ability to just use the skill.

but to be fair having all levels be summed up by the one characters highest level skill is unnessarily punishing ALOT of players who have invested Ungodly amounts of time, Energy and presumably money to level life skills across dozens of classes; thats just not fair to the community to do that.

The amount of afk needed to reach lvls in lifeskilling is surreal. Good thing i stopped doing it since lifeskilling sucks. It is unrewarding, time consuming and most importantly not engaging and not fun.

As a lifeskiller and member of "Life", I was heartbroken to hear this announcement today at the Calpheon Ball.

I don't think I can get excited for any of the other changes, content updates, or free stuff we're getting in the future.

Knowing that we're getting this change has literally taken all the fun out of BDO for me.

The only thing in BDO that I was truly proud of was not my lifeskill gear, not my combat gear, not my character level or the treasures items I had obtained, but being part of my guild, "Life", the top lifeskill guild in EU.

Earning guild life points was a unique achievement. You didn't need to invest your time in pushing your lifeskill levels on your main; instead, you spent time on your alt characters leveling their lifeskills.

Being part of "Life" meant leveling lifeskills on alt characters to earn guild life points for the leaderboard and competing amongst ourselves through life fame.

Introducing family-wide lifeskills means the removal of all those aspects. You've taken away the guild identity of my guild "Life"!

Also we will no longer have any "main" lifeskill characters we can be proud of or identify with!

G50 gets uncapped. Wasn't it already hard enough to get there? No improvements to enhancing lifeskill gear. Why can't we use failstacks for them?

As a lifeskiller and member of "Life", I feel betrayed by PA :(

Edit: Perhaps some clarification of the implications of this change:

Generally speaking, lifeskillers can be divided into 3 types: trophy hunter, life fame/guild life point lifeskilling, and normal lifeskillers.

As I described earlier, leveling up alt characters to increase life fame/guild life points was more of a guild-oriented goal striving type of lifeskilling. Where as trophy hunting, where you push your lifeskill levells as high as possible, is more of a personal-oriented way of lifeskilling.

If PA now introduces family-wide lifeskill levels, it basically means that the fame/guild lifeskill lifeskilling is abolished. PA is removing something from the game without replacement and ignoring the passion and love of an active player base that participated in that activity.

My Suggestion: (Personally, it's somewhat shocking to see that so many people would happily, without hesitation, screw over a minority just for some QoL changes).

Anyway, the best solution I've read and can think of myself is to simply expand the current lifeskill level system instead of replacing it.

In the 'My Information (P)' window, introduce a "Family-wide" tab for lifeskill levels, while keeping the "character"-based tab (the one we have currently in-game).

Lifeskill fame and guild life points should remain the same and be calculated the old way with the "character"-based lifeskill levels from all of your characters in your family.

While the new "Family-wide" lifeskill levels tab is used as actual stats for your character. Your family lifeskill level will be calculated as the sum of all character-based lifeskill levels of your family.

In other words, keep the old system, while introducing family wide lifeskill levels!

So a buncha crazy people.  Wow.

Okay so this "crazy" minority hates themselves a lot and wants to make the life skill system more confusing just so they can continue to self-inflict misery upon themselves as they train their 25th alt's training ability to professional 1 so that they can use auto-sprint again, interesting.  I was always interested in the other POV but if this is all...idk

Only thing I am against is how they implement the merge, but not the merge itself.  Like if the xp merges or not.

By now I only gave Blizzard as an example in negative situations, but...have you heard of "hardcore mode" which players "brought upon themselves due to an outburst of craziness" (according to this logic)? Have you heard what Blizzard did?

My point is, as long as the way to play the game is legitimate and not breaking any rules, and people are having fun, who are we to judge them. The question to be yet answered is whether PA cares for people having fun or might just ignore this minority. Minding that another minority might be doing something else meanwhile which we even don't know of, but simplification of the game might kill it as well.

Well, I agree that judging this sort of players is unnecesary, but people with such extreme playstyles should never be allowed to take other players as hostages and set directions for major changes in the game. 200 players would be happy if this change was cancelled, 500 000 monthly would continue to suffer unnecesary and essentially meaningless limitations. I hope this change goes live soon, so the uncertainty regarding the technical solution dissolves.
