It is not possible for someone who starts today to catch up with someone who plays 7 years!!! 

Life Fame requires 901 points, without much effort I have over 1800, so over 2 times more.

And no one cares about any rankings because they do not exist.
Ranking only shows players currently logged in on a given channel. At 6 am, even I was in top 10 mostly life skills.

No one takes anything from you. You have Guru 50 and you will continue to have it.

So the truth is different, you want to get something for free.

Is fully sufficient since 99% of players are not even close to this result.

Bdo is this your first mmo in your life? Every life skill ends at some point, you reach the maximum level and that's it.

1800 is not that much life fame. I have well over 3k and I'm really not that far along compared to most of my guild mates. We have people that are over 10k life fame. 

Asking if BDO is someone's first MMO is just braindead behavior. None of this actually matters, it's a video in which we waste our time after work, it's not something profound. We just don't want the time we've already spent to be deleted. Not to mention that you're saying "everything ends at some point" but the entire argument is that it didn't end this quickly and now they're making it so it ends much quicker. It's like if they told grinders that they're removing levels above 60. 

No one is arguing that life fame is a core mechanic of the video game that is vital to its functionality, but there are a lot of people who enjoy farming life fame on different characters and you're essentially advocating for that activity to be taken away without offering any benefits in return. 

You're also saying that life skillers want something for free. How is exp you worked for "for free" that makes absolutely no sense. I teach 12 year old with more processing power than you seem to have. Hell, you don't even object permanence, if you switch to a different character to do you believe the other character to be gone forever? If you lose nothing by having progress on your alts deleted it must not have existed in the first place right? You're not bringing up any good arguments, you're just saying that you don't mind fun being taken from other players becuase it doesn't bother you personally and that's not a very charitable way to approach a new update.

Most of these changes are geared to appeal to new players and shaft the existing players. Having run multiple businesses over 30+ years, I can tell you that this is a BAD STRATEGY.  Existing customers are 5x+ more valuable than are new ones.  70%+ of your effort should be directed to keep them vs chase new ones.  You aren't a start up.

As long as they combine exp, I think most players will not see any problem with that, in fact. Even existing players.

If they didn't combine exp it would be a huge mistake but that's the only rational complaint I could see toward family-wide lifeskill levels. People who want to play pure lifeskill can continue to play that way and people who want to be more versatile with how they use their lifeskills are finally able to now.

Compared to 2018 leveling of most lifeskills has been made much more easier: lifeskill masteries, mass processing, mass cooking, gathering minigame, getting sailing xp from just sailing, training minigame to name a few. So there goes the argument that new players cannot catch up.. It is possible and easier than ever.

As a member of top EU lifeskill guild, lifeskill competition, that meaning lifefame/lifelevels competition and being on top 30 of the server rankings has been my primary motivation to play this game. . Theres many of us, lets say more mature, players who participate in this.

We are the customers no business wants to lose- loyal and paying. Lifefame/levels competition is what we do. Alienating such players with rash actions and bad communication is poor business- just plain and simple.

Variety is the spice of life.  Dumbing down and consolidating the things in this game makes it dumber, simpler, less immersive and over all, not as meaningful to play.  Games should imporve over time, things should stay diverse, but should be easier to use.  Robbing characters of their identities is lame, and reducing everything to a common denominator removes all meaning.

PA is kiling this game.  If it's intentional, they're doing everything right.  Man, I wish I hadn't gotten into this game years ago.  It's hard watching something you love, and all the aspects that made you really get into the game, be taken away or destroyed before your eyes.

Man, this used to be such a great game.

It's hard watching it die.

For someone like myself who didn't wanna level the lifeskills on all alts is a good update

I have done quite a lot of lifeskilling and I think this change is fantastic! This means I can finally use those hard earned masteries from my Ranger that I never play anymore.

Just remember you hide your stats an i have called you out on multiple occasions for not even playing the game. 

For everyone alse i can see this becoming a issue, they are focusing far to much on new players an the changes are showing this... Temporary boost in player base never survives when you cause major issues for veterans.

When veterans are your building blocks to encourage new players.. messing with them isnt how you build a game, once veterans leave new players will be temporary especially when they know the devs consistently spit in the face of all players who are veterans . Thats without the fact alot of information is completely missing

As long as they combine exp and allow to go above guru 50, not many players will see it as a dumbed down system. Levels will still exist, dedicated lifeskill alts will still have locked pearl lifeskill outfits, the life fame will be calculated with a new method and still serve as a metrics...

To my opinion, there's only one possible mistake devs can make, if they avoid it, it will be widely accepted by newcomers and veterans, dedicated lifeskillers and other adventurers.
