It's still "gambling" your chance for success, nothing is promised, they don't have other "success cap" than 100%.
Other time you can still easily burn your accessories with 80% chance in fs, tho it seems safer than 5% xD

You should probably cron only DUO -> TRI and TRI ->TET if you had some spare tet fail stacks.
Or go Tet Godr-eye and half the amount of crons used and increase amount of possible attempts available - it's only about 1% chance less than normal Tet blackstar, and 4-5% chance is low anyway.

If you don't mind your name not being on the item, you could have hamster money up and buy it from someone else via market.

I just took liberty of your 245fs and rolled for Pen 40 times (it went up once, about 20th attempt xD)
Other time u use this, you will get like 10 Pen Blackstars in this amount of attempts. 
That's how stupid RNG can work.

As a player that plays since pre-launch, I agree they should add some other way to guaranteed success for endgame items than pure RNG or market. I still believe tho it shouldn't be just too easy, PEN BS and new Slumbering Orgin weapons shouldn't be just treated like "catch-up" mechanics.

What I believe tho, if this game exists still in like 4-6 years, they will at some point give you PEN BS cos there will be way stronger sets than Slumbering Orgin and other new regions and spots to challange. Meanwhile they will keep upgrading regions and grindspots which get unused and updated, like they added Elvia in serendia or starting adding Dekhia now.

PEN items are just a cheap excuse to keep people engaged and in the game...

You might not like it.... but... If you cant handle failiure, use the central market, with the exception of a very select few items you will be able to obtain everything without ever using the enhancement system.

You only have urself to blame for using an RNG system that you clearly do not understand, especially when a straight forward non-RNG system is freely available to you.

I think it rewards people based on a generated profile. You may be right there is a pregen, but I believe it gives you what they believe will get the most out of you haha.

The best loot I ever got out of a box was like a pri accessory. I got the 10 cron pearl box draw in calph, but I only got 1600 crons at the end, so less than 2k raw. I get pretty good drops farming, but I've never gotten a raw pot drop. I hit 2 bhegs pens, sold one then came back and made another. Failed a good amount, too. Not with huge stax, either, like 111s.

I'm probably going to buy or make a tet BS for enhancing because I want the option of selling it. Where I am at in gear, I think the money would be better off spent elsewhere, like a PEN ogre +. That's the thing: I would never cron accessories because you can downgrade as dude said. They didn't use to have the % posted, but now that it's 40% it's like yea nah. Getting pen accessories is nuts without massive crons/silver.

In theory, getting pen whatever gear should not be too hard, but it does hurt to have to spend like 3000 crons on it. Black star is a scam.

I definitely feel there is more to it than just RNG though. Sorry kids. Maybe back in diablo days it was raw rng, but now they have us playing for 1000s of hours and have all that data logged, there is no way they aren't using it in some way. I mean, even THE MAGNUS could be used to further create a profile. Tinfoil or not, you have to admit it's possible!

I just play for fun, though. I am trash geared. They have pity stuff now for most things. It'd prol be smart to have a pity grind to auto enhance to pen as well, real talk. Cuz I agree all these dudes who failed something 100s of times, it's like wow...  even just trying 100 times should get you the pen, you know?

There is a method to it, I guess, but it doesn't seem optimal. You gotta throw people a bone sometime.

I feel for the OP, i really do, as someone who has played off and on since the Daum/Kakao launch- there are lots of instances in Black Desert where progression can 'feel' finite and often times impossible.  But it's not, and it isn't, and i do hope that the Black Star PEN attempt isn't the only thing this person was zeroing in on, because there is are sooooo many moving parts in BDO that feed into the familys' and characters' progression.

To the OP specificlly, i'd suggest just taking a break and perhaps coming back once a lot of the 2024 'streamlined updates' are in place- perhaps then there will be a better carrot to chase then.  :)

The more they render playing this game meaningless and kill it by all the streamlining they're doing these days........, they'll force this long-time player to quit.......
