I know this is diverting a little from the yet-another-human-female-topic, but I want to address this:

Renaissance alchemists were rudimentary chemists, until Antoine Lavoisier discovered oxygen and eastablished the rubrics for modern chemistry (thanks be to God).  They didn't know much about what they were doing, but they most certainly didn't use magical-girl style hammers to hit lead or other metals to turn them into gold.  That's what Rings of Power elven "Master Blacksmiths" do.  Amazon and PA do not put much research into anything anymore (don't know if Amazon ever did....).  So, they're doing a magical-girl fantasy fo Scholar, and for me, I wish it was historical, rather than fantasy.  But still, this is a fantasy game, and I hope people have fun with the Scholar.  Mabye she will be fun to play.  But, she's not a Renaissance Alchemist.  And they certainly didn't wear hot-pants.

And back to the topic at hand: tiny details?  They are the props for major details.  If you fail on the small things, you can't build an immersive world.

PA, "Tiny details are huge"!!!!!!!!!

And she wouldn't say "me hammers" unless you think this svelt human woman is supposed to be a dwarf.... which, if true, is insulting to a lot of us.

I feel like her "accent" and speech patterns were made with a Dwarf in mind. She sounds like a stereotypical anime dwarf. She sounds quite similar to the female Dwarves in WoW. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that. That's even more insulting. Instead of a "real" Dwarf class, we get a cheap knockoff. Who's more of a 'meme' than an actual class. A girl cosplaying as a Dwarf complete with "J's Hammer." No thanks. I'll continue leveling my Witch and Tamer.

And if they wanted an outfit based on the renaissance, shouldn't she be wearing a dress? Or if they wanted her to dress a little more practical they could have gone with the male varient of clothing worn back during that period. Also the scholars of that time period were made up predominantly of men. There were I think two women. Which would have been all the more reason for that class to be male, but I digress. The male outfits were similar to Dandelion's (Jaskier's) clothing from the Witcher games. It was a very colorful period. The peak of the Arts. Fashion that was midieval with a more modern (for that time) touch.

Don't hold your breath for the next male class either. Unless he gets some really cool smoke magic or something, he looks like just another swordsmen.

But ya the way you make PA think about it is not buy anything for the new class and let it fade into irrelevance.

Oh, I know a lot of people are not even enthusiastic about that class they showed. They did that again to keep people that's already pissed somewhat appeased. PA is stepping on egg shells with NA/EU and now from what I hear Korea to. They better be real careful and think out their next moves.

Male class is clearly being based on jeoseung saja, the korean shinigami/grim reaper. It has the smoke all around him and the pipe just like most visual representations of the folklore does.

So it will probably be some sort of soul magic/dark magic/necro thingy.

I also agree it was a missed opportunity for the dwarf. It would have suited well, and I also recall them stating they would do either next class or more classes as male... So hopefully they can take this feedback and at least do a male version. The only thing I could imagine holding them back on a dwarf is they'd have to do a new body model and maybe skeleton unless they can use shai, then its more work per outfit. They are bound to have the resources to accomplish that though with the bank they make.

I dont see what harm it would do for them to add male/female versions to every class, they have done it to a few at least.

They need necro, and the problem with scholar is Shai. It's an overlap theme. There are other possibilities. Seems like a mail in.

Pretty evenly split and controversial topic.    I think it's the player base's fault though... and no I don't mean any Western countries, I mean japan and korea's faults because all of the males they've released, INCLUDING their re-release of the Wizard's aesthetics  (which mine got Defaulted to BY PA against my own consent on the matter) are all basically "Bishonen" or K-pop idols.  You're simply not allowed to "sell" in any meaningful quantity a male role model that is gritty and keg-shaped, "grizzled" as in looking older than 30, or just a straight up "short race" like Morco or a proper goblin.... at least not to this target demographic.  This segment of their local market has a serious "Shonen" problem when it comes to reducing Protagonists and Antagonists alike into a literal Caste system.  ...everyone else is a supporting NPC at best.  It's only absolute legends like Masahiro Sakurai who break this mold.  This is all leading up to the natural conclusion of course that the fanbase (...once its finally bored of waifus) will only throw money and time at the same Fire Emblem clones until the entire genre is obsolete which greatly constrains the amount of total-available ideas to build an actual male class around.

...and the irony in this is that the same exact thing applies to Female characters and it's even more constrained. ...unless they're "Amazons", which the Scholar most definitely is not at all a convincing amazon or norse woman either (despite the default red hair)
