I made the suggestion long ago, that you could fix it with simple "property laws".

Player 1 goes to his spot and uses a function, that announces it as claimed for the time being. This also will be visualized as a circle on the map for other players. Just like animal mark their territory, first come, first served. Let's say you can claim a spot for a certain period of time or as long as you are in that spot and not long gone, it is yours.

Now, other players who want to challenge the spot, can claim it by winning the spot in a PVP-Duel, obviously. Now, the player who lost either won't be able to attack mobs in the claimed territory or not gain any exp anymore until the territory is freed up again. Announcing territory or Claiming it should be an official feature, and the official duel counts. You have a minimal amount of tries, one or maybe two. No karmabombing by a player after losing the duel, who won't gain anything by getting himself killed often enough, as they are not elligible for exp from these mobs in the territory for a specific time, even after you're gone. I don't know the exact mechanism of PvP-Griefers and how they are dealt with right now, but even them can't go around claim territory of other players, as there is a limit to how often or how long you can claim a spot. So even if someone kills for fun to take the spot, he could officially claim the territory not more than the X allowed times a day.

What I think is most important is to create a formal and featured practice, very similar to what normal players already do informally, i.e.: "Duel for spot?". Just this time the map itself tells you "spot taken" and your ways of claiming it officially are confined to fair practices and officially transparent protocoled results. And this time you can't just keep ignoring the outcome and go on wasting the winners time, as you won't gain any exp in that particular spot as the official loser of the duel.

Claiming territory itself can also be specifically confined. Of the top of my head and only mere suggestions:
- you can claim a territory x times a day
- you can claim only a certain size of territory (maybe grows with your level etc.)
- you can claim a specific territory officially only for a certain time (x amount of minutes)
- you can reclaim the same territory only after a cooldown period
- you only have 1 or 2 tries to challenge a claimed territory from another person. etc.
- you could add features that make it easier to come to compromise "You can grind here at Manschaum, but don't touch the shamans, I need their loot"

This idea doesn't need to be that feature-rich, but a simple version of "claim territory/spot" that makes it a bit more formal would help get edgy griefers and karmabombers, who lack basic social abilities to understand a basic natural ruleset, at bay.

what you say?

This is once more getting away from the original topic, I understand it is something that is quite easy to get off-topic.

"Karma bombing" is the issue here, the fact people can take off their gear to abuse this broken mechanic, where they should only lose 10-30k karma people intentionally "bomb" people's karma, causing them to lose 120-130k karma.

This is not intentional, and this is definitely not how the game is meant to be played. Hence, we would like to see a fix to this issue.

This is not about any other issue than that, and I know it is very easy to get off-topic, I have been baited into it myself. I ask that we get this back on topic, and discuss possible fixes for this 'glitch/problem'.

It's much more complicated then that.  Taking off your equipment isn't against the rules or any worse than mob feeding.  It's actually quite difficult to manage it properly and requires a lot more skill than PVPing.

The system is also VERY broken without that.  It gives an opponent far to many free chances to mob feed and destroy a players ability to play the game.  Lets never forget this includes cases where over geared or people that even cash shopped their equipment or advantages to overpower others.  Then running into the premium areas of the game to abusively mob feed players and take the spot from appropriately geared people in the area.

Sorry to hear you can't handle the truth.  "Using underhanded tactics is not strength"? Oh really?  If anything is to be considered "underhanded tactics" mob feeding would certainly belong in that category.

ALL is fair in LOVE & WAR

That simple statement holds true as a foundation to what the rules actually are ;)

If you want to claim it's cheating then you will have to establish exactly what rule is being broken.  Because the answer is NONE.  Thus you must acquit.

The Chewbacca defense wins again.

Well stated and very good points.  This is a Player Vs Player game.

Lets take a look at another side.  I ran into an area and started clearing mobs which was already occupied.  That player flagged up several times and died every time achieving no kills.  Did I really deserve the grind spot for this behavior?  If you have empathy or reason you might think this was a terrible thing to do.  Even selfish, bullying.

According to the PVPers and Pearl Abyss.  I clearly did the RIGHT THING in that case.

Personally, I think it was diplorable.

Thoughtout modern history it is never the most muscle brain that wins battles and wars. It was always the more intelligent and wise that do. Look at the strongest nations throughout both World Wars. They fell, not because they lacked strength. But because their leaders lacked wisdom and tactics.

I'm sorry to say just because you don't agree with a tactic. Don't make it cheating. Look at all the Sea Monster Hunters, Mappers, and Guild Payout exploiters. All used what conventional players would considered cheating. Yet in most situations they came out hugely on top. Lets not even talk about the big spenders. Who spends $100,000s just to get the gear required to become gods against most of the playerbase. I don't see you crying about those extremely questionable tactics!

You are not looking for what's fair and just. You, like most on these forums. Are just looking to push wants convenient only to yourself. So lets drop the act ok.

Wow, the amount of childish stupidity here is astounding. Just because you say something doesnt make it true. You disobey the rules the majority of the community agreed on, and now you whine about it. You greif someone's grind spot, and you cry about the consequences. You two are the perfect example of what is wrong with this game, and of the toxicity that is rife within it. All you want to do is greif people however you want, push your will onto oeveryone without any consequences despite not bothering to put in any time and effort whatsoever. Pathetic.

First off, since when the rules that was made up by the top 5%, are"rules of the majority of the community agreed on?" Might want to take your own advice! Who is this community that you speak of? Because from my experience only PKers follow those rules. While the majority of the guilds ignore PKers.

Second off, I like griefing people in BDO so much. That I only log into the game for about 1 hour every 7 to 14 days. Than log off and continue playing my other MMOs.

Third off, what about those perma-red players and guilds? That hunt players right outside Hediel or in the low level GS spots?

I mean you sound like someone who pathetically get off on hunting players. Who you know can't fight back. Then cry about being lightly punished for purposely creating a toxic experience for them. For your own amusement.

First off, those rules were NOT made by the top 5%, the grand majority of active players are 261+ these days, if you think thats top 5% you need some real game experience before you make suggestions. And you further prove your utter and complete lack of knowledge by saying that guild ignore PKers when PvP is hugely popular in this game.

Second off, its painfully obvious that you barely play at all, so thankyou for confirming you only play an hour every two weeks, because now we can completely disregard anything and everything you say because you have no idea what you are talking about. Everything you say is completely worthless because you have zero experience and zero knowledge and are just crying like a child.

Yeah because it'll not like BDO was my main MMO at one point. Yup, I never even played BDO to experience anything. All those videos and stuff that was place on my youtube and twitch channels in the past. Never existed! All lies.

So what is your kind going to come up with next?

This is simply amazing, everyone is doing it these days!! Must be the new thing.

Everyone states something they themselves should follow, but don't.  Here is yours

Fearless ruined all of your points with a few basic examples.  People could provide 100's more, but you wouldn't care anyway.  The majority of toxicity in the game comes from the powerful as IS THE SAME THING IN SOCIETY.  The smaller child doesn't go around pushing around bigger kids because he lacks the ability to do so.  However, when someone obtains more power they will often BULLY people around them.

You need to just wake up and figure out BDO's environement is simply designed for bullying.  It's all about hmmmm "POWER STRUGGLE", "Competition for resources", "Dominance", "Ownership", "Pitting Humans VS other Humans".  Learn a little about humanity before you decide to comment on it ;)

And don't forget, you can always Buy Power in the Cash Shop today!!!!!! Need a quick edge, no worries give up your credit card and we'll solve all of your problems. (The ones we intentionally created)

Just because you played a lot a few years ago doesnt mean you know anything of the modern game. As you constantly show in every one of your posts, you have little to no modern game knowledge, and have no idea what actually happens. You are an admitted greifer who plays an hour per 2 weeks. Your opinion holds zero value.

Fearless ruined absolutely nothing and the fact that you think he did shows you are jsut as inexperienced and lacking as much knowledgeas he is. The majority of the toxicity in the game comes from one type of person: the type of person that wants to force their will upon others in the most destructive ay, i.e. karmabombers and greifers, like fEarless admitted himself to be and you likely are as well, based on your replies. The smaller child doesnt push olther children, you are right. What they will do is lie and act like the other child pushed them in order to get him punished. Like when karmabombers cry like they are the victim and try to get the now-red player killed. It happens all the time, ask any teacher or parent. It's funny how you keep coming up with examples you think will somehow defeat me but instead paint yourself perfectly into them.

The game is not designed for bullying any more than it is designed for flower arranging, bullies like yourself will find a way to be a bully no matter what. In hearthstone, people wait the maximum time for their turn to greif opponents, wasting their time. In League of Legends, people will intentionally feed kills to opponents. No game is designed for bullying, but bullies like yourself will always find a way.

Here's a wake up call for you: a competetive game, by defenition contains competition. Shocking and difficult for you to understand, I know. Learn a little bit about humanity before you decide to pretend you have any. ;)
