Why don't you just check the number of iframes on DK and Tamer first? XD 

Don't forget to check the other strengths of these classes too.

Now, you prove that, like Claudia, you simply want to see everything under the "grab" perspective, and you forget everything else.

And again, check the number of tamers. Then, check the number of Succ Tamer. If grab was such a "win" button, you'd see more tamers, and thinking that tamers just have to wait for openings then grab, you clearly never played the class.

Tamers, above all Awakening ones, are high APM and nothing is really easy for them, but at the same time it is satisfying.

To be fair, Claudia is #1 NA RBF points leader.  #1 in bloodthirsty NA server.  I've fought Claudia a few times in RBF, and we 1v1'd on Castle Ruins when it was just the two of us once.  I'm not an RBF rat by any means, but I do recognize Claudia.  Very skilled veteran Sorc.  Some people have mixed opinions on Claudia.  They can be a bit of a trash talker, but nothing toxic IMO, just you know, typical competitive PVP talk.  But that's only in my experience.  I can't form a solid opinion on this player because of my limited interactions with them, but in the interactions I have had, I've only had laughs (they can say some pretty funny stuff) and a good spirited 1v1 under my belt.

Do I think Claudia might be biased?  Maybe.  But to be fair, I think we all can be rather biased.  I'm not afraid to admit that I'm biased too --- we all are.  It's a stereotype that players often will say their class is weak and other classes are so powerful...this is so common.  I try my best to remain objective and neutral, but I will admit that I am a biased too because I've only played Sorc (non-grab class) to a respectable degree in PVP.  I've played Striker, Mystic, and Valk a bit, but nowhere near the level I've played Sorc.  BUT -- to the ex-Sorc mains I've talked too who rerolled off Sorc, Sorc not having grab was a huge part of their decison to leave the class.  No grab, no long range mobility, and her damage, while good, isn't very special compared to other classes who have grab, better mobility, heals, etc.

That being said, I think if they make more FG and less SA, I imagine it being way easier for me (Sorc) to get kills, since Sorc is so good at getting back attacks.  Once you know the animations of other classes and fight them enough to know typical ability rotations, getting back attacks is so easy.  I don't necessarily want an "easier" fight...I want a more balanced and fair one. 

I-frame is the most powerful DEFENSIVE ability since it mitigates damage 100% while grab is the most powerful OFFENSIVE ability since it bypasses protection, with many grabs leading to KNOCKDOWN, which is a full 2 second CC, or BOUND, which is 1.5 sec CC.  So, I really don't know.  I want classes to be unique, have unique gameplay, unique appraoches to fights, I want good class matchups and bad class matchups to exist, and I want every class to excell at PVP scenarios and not excell at every single PVP scenario.  I want classes to maintain their identity.  360 SA+FG block is a huge part of shield classes identity and playstyle, I would hate it if they removed 360 SA+FG block from those classes.  But how can we actually achieve balance?  While keeping these things in tact?  The more I think about it, the more complicated it gets.

How about leaving every class as is for the most part and introducing two new PVP mechanics?  (Just throwing out ideas, don't crucify me).

1)  Grab-break -- Every class has access to "grab-break".  This ability is on a long cooldown of 30 seconds and will allow players to break the status effect of any grab.  If you're BOUND or KNOCKDOWN due to grab (and grab alone, doesn't work for getting CC'd by other abilities), you can rise back up instantly.  Every class has this.  This also has potential of extending fights as well.

2)  Block-break  -- I always found it strange how Corsair can break block so easily with her ability passives.  I understand that it's supposed to be a counter to turtle classes, but something like this extends to non-turtle classes too.  And, TBH, Corsair is sleeper strong, people not realizing how strong Corsair actually can be.  I'd suggest non-grab-melee-range classes a way to deal with turtles better.  ONE ABILITY that can chunk block gauge.  Not 100 - 0 the block, but a good chunk, like, maybe 60% - 70% of the block chunked.  Not break blocks as easily as Corsair, but break blocks in a more reliable way.  As of now, as Sorc, if there's a class who's turtling, I have NO WAY to deal with them.  Only avoid them, harrass, get their back for a little more damage, but that's it  Just rat around them and hope they mess up -- but competent turtle classes don't mess up, they know when to catch me and are 100% able to swat the little fly that I am forced to become.  This is why fighting good Valks and Guardians is hard in 1v1 -- Warrior too, but many Warrior mains tend to rush-down more because they think too highly of themselves, exposing their back to me and getting baited.  I find that Valk mains and Guardian mains tend to be much more calculated and smarter than OOK OOK Warrior mains (playful banter, chill out Warrior main xD).

I think giving non-grab-melee-classes who fight in melee range ONE ABILITY an effect on a LONG COOLDOWN that can chunk block.  ONE ABILITY so it needs to be used wisely and LONG COOLDOWN so we aren't turned into pseudo-Corsairs but aren't hopeless when fighting turtles.

ALONG WITH THESE TWO ABILITIES

---> Increase the effectiveness of the sheet DP stat.  Key word = SHEET DP, not "evasion" or "DR", but SHEET DP.  Make high DP brackets relevant somehow.  Extend fights for everyone, make SHEET DP actually meaningful, because as of now, sheet DP means jack -- it's high evasion, HP, special attack evasion, and DR that actually matter.  Make SHEET DP mean something real.

No matter his status or whatever, blaming grabs so obsessively like Claudia is doing is ridiculous and narrow-minded. 

Removing all grabs, or adding grabs to every class, each of these solutions will simply create a bigger mess. There's nothing good coming from such a simplistic reasoning, that's why the topic fell into the bottom of the forums last year.

So, it only proves that you can have good stats in pvp and be totally obsessed by the wrong thing when it comes to balance.

I prefer the idea of additional block breakers, it has already been proposed.

To your first point, I think if nothing else, that qualifies him to understand the limitation of his class in pvp. If the person who has pvp'd the most, says there is no counter play for 360 block, i'd be inclined to believe him. As I said, the eu solare knight and other highly regarded dks agree.

If every class had a hard counter then sure, but they don't its strictly, non-grab vs 360 block

Thats why sorc and dk are dying, no one wants to play 1 of the very very few classes that don't have an answer to everything, like every other class does.

If that's the whole problem, there's gotta be a better way to fix it than giving every class a grab. Like dude said in the other thread, I think you guys are gonna be in for a rude awakening when this stuff falls flat.

Maybe it'd be time to take a step back and look at all classes. Have assassin iframe classes. Have grab classes. Have 360 block classes. AoE blow u up classes, etc.

Adding a grab to every class will be a bandaid fix, cuz what can you say anymore? But it's gonna be soo ugly. Trust me dood. I'm cool with whatever, haha, but just saying. Just wait.
