With the upcoming change to PvP that are solely in favor of large scale PvP and a direct nerf to every non-grab/grapple class this is needed for balance.
you cannot even remotely balance PvP going forward when certain classes have mechanics to directly bypass the upcoming nerf to small scale PvP. No matter what changes you make several classes will have an advantage and we are overdue for this simple solution. You can rebalance PvP after this.

I wrote quite extensively on this here. A few months later the developer implemented a half-baked solution of what I said to combat grabs, but it was poorly modified since their solution was a counter-CC to any CC (not just grab) by means of pressing the V emergency escape key. It obviously flopped because their solution could be chained to counter another person's V (a vulnerability that would not exist in my proposed solution limiting it to countering only grabs). One of the solutions I suggested was to implement a counter CC exclusive to grab to combat its high-reward/low-risk. I don't know if something was missing in the translation to korean and that's why it got implemented so poorly and later abandoned, not even making it passed the test-server.
In the years I have played bdo, a great percentage of my time has been exclusively pvping, I rarely would miss a day of pvping in bdo for years. This has given me the highest kill-count in the world. But I now realise it is futile, I have since that post given up on pvp in bdo and no longer play it. The sheer incompetence of the developer to balance classes starting with something so evidently one-sided as a grab CC has finally made me give up any hope that pvp will improve. PVP balance has been in free-fall since their introduction of Succession mode, in which they decided to no longer honor their pledge of not giving CC's to protected skills. I have no longer the patience nor the will to try to better this game nor to type long essays analysing what is broken and how to fix it. There are much better pvp games out there than BDO, and it's a shame, because fixing BDO pvp is not difficult at all, you just need to establish concrete rules which ALL classes must abide by, no class should be allowed to override them, but yet there are still certain classes that have the ability to overide all protections through the use of a skill like the grapple for no reason at all (I ellaborate on this in great detail in my essay post).
There is no hope for balanced pvp in bdo; the developer does not know what it is doing. PVP in this game is dead to me, it has become pure garbage, and highly anti-competitive. Now it's not a matter of skill or even gear, but a matter of class selection. It's not competitive, its a card game where you take out the joker card which has the grab and pretty much thats 90% of the game decider.
I have given up on giving this incompetent developer any more feedback regarding their disgusting pvp, but everything I wrote before in my forum essay still remains true, as well as good options on how to fix, not that the developer would care of course. Yup I don't understand people who do not see the obvious flaw in certain classes having protection invalidating button when others dont

A classic comment coming from a class that actually enjoys the generous benefits of having a grab skill. Grabs simply cannot continue not having any weakness, there needs to be balance. It needs to respect the rules of other CC's like not passing through Forward Guard and Super Armor. With changes like these even more so. At the very least, give grab skills to all classes if you really need to relly on grab so much to win anything. It has been far too easy for long enough already, the tricycle training wheels must come off. At least share those training wheels. It's about time to level the playing field.

Your class has the only protection that can avoid grab, know the name of it? Its called iframe, and sorc has tons of it, as well as the other classes. They also have something called ´´movement´´, which avoids you from getting grabbed. So unless you are static in the very same spot, you can dodge the so complained grab, it just takes a few buttons. Should be easy an easy task. I am against the meta of making everything more protected rather than an actual balance, and all those excessive protections included on the latest glab patch make the game an SA trade meta, more than already is.
