Do not Kill Awaken sage ***AGAIN*** With These CC Changes

Well, Didn't think we'd be making another "save awaken sage post" again, but here we are. 

(Previous "Please Save awake Sage" posts linked at the bottom of this post. Feel free to read them and reminisce on all the issue's the sage community faced previously.)


Title: Do not remove both of our best CC's, Absolute: Void gateways & Shock Relay

Reason: Awakening sage has very few ways to reliably make CC attempts in the awakening kit currently, and with these changes our 5 viable cc's will be reduced to only 3 usable cc's in total for the awakening sage players. Void Gateways not only allows Awakening sage to make cc attempts in a fairly safe manner but because it has a cc on it-it also incentivizes the continuous use of the ability in general, which in turn allows awaken sage to restore its stamina during the abilities animation.

The damage of Absolute void gateways is negligible, so removing it's cc completely removes any incentive to use the ability in PvP which in turn causes our stamina management to be even more difficult than it is now, it also removes one the 2 best, MOST USED cc's in our kit. Awaken Sage already has very limited ccs currently, (5 usable cc's) there's no reason to remove the best two in the kit. 

As for Shock Relay the abilities CD is being increased to 5 seconds, which is fine, but it's also losing it's cc as well. That seems far too heavy handed for only receiving a very short Forward guard on the ability. Especially when you compare these changes to classes that already outperform awakening sage, like awakening Musa receiving Super Armor on it's best cc and damage ability Dash Slash, and receiving a very powerful CC on it's Mobility slow, SA Dash ability One Step Back.

Furthermore, the highest damage combos we can perform all require us to either start the combo with a stiff, or to apply a stiff mid-combo (during the recovery animation from the 1st hard CC) While a stiff combo starter can sometimes be compensated with more effort and skill, not being able to apply a stiff mid-combo really does hurt our damage output potential, as well as our in-combat cc potential as shock relay is also our fastest available cc.

Suggestion: Keep the CC on Absolute: Void gateways, do not change anything about this ability as it is required for awakening sage to perform in many circumstances for group pvp.

For shock relay, You do not need to remove both the CC AND increase it's cooldown just to give it a forward guard, Instead only increase the cooldown and give it the Forward guard while keeping the stiffen it already has.

If these changes go through it spells the downfall for awakening sage once again. Only having 3 usable cc's in your kit is unheard of, especially when one of them is a 20 second Cooldown Grab.  

On a personal note, it feels a little silly waiting all those months for awakening sage to become viable again, only for it to regain it's viability and lose it once again for no reason at all.

I gave up on proper Succ/Awa Sage changes a long time ago seeing how daft balance team is in regards to this class as a whole, but these changes were just taking it to another level. Very apparent no one at PA plays this class. What you suggest is so common sense it makes me even more nervous on this games direction.

ONLY other thing I would add, remove stam lock on Imapling. J HIMSELF said Awa Sage would get stam fixes...and instead take 2 of the best cc's the kit has and ignores stamina all together...nice job J/PA

Yeah these so called buffs are definitely nerfs if they actually played the class. I'm not a huge awakening player but even I can see that. 

Succ on the other hand is getting indirectly screwed by everyone else getting perma protections. No additional protections added to multiple slow, unprotected skills, that are crucial to the classes combos. Illusion expansion and ators fist come to mind. 

If no one has to take risks during their combos why did sage get left out of that?

That's the sad part. I don't think PA understands how the class plays. So they make changes that in their eyes are great but in reality are very, very bad.

Revert changes: Absolute: Void Gateways and just give back shock relay stiff...

I mean utilization of that FG on shock relay is still very minimal. I mean if i have to choose between having gap and having stiff cc i just take my old unprotected shock relay...

And my poor Void Gateways, nerfing this spell is literally killing the class for large scale pvp, our best skill for engage large fights.

Awakening sage can utilize very very very few spells from main skills...Illusion compression (can be use very rarely), Spatial Collapse (fine, but unprotected on the end), Realm of anguish (for pve only), Dimmensional Compression (good but very long and cannot be canceled), Void gateways (perfect skill).

Please don't destroy our class even more
