Suggestions/Comments: Remove crowd control (CC) resistances in PvP.

Greetings,

Removing CC resistances for PvP will enhance the PvP experience by prioritizing skill and strategy over randomness.

Key benefits of removing CC resistances:

1. Enhanced skill-based gameplay:
The elimination of CC resistances will foreground skill and strategic prowess in PvP engagements.
This change will ensure that player expertise, tactical planning are paramount in determining combat outcomes, fostering a more competitive and rewarding PvP environment.

2. Improved game balance:
Randomness in PvP leads to imbalances, where the outcome of a fight is more dependent on luck than on player strategy.
Adjusting this mechanic yields fair PvP combat, where the success of players is intrinsically linked to their strategic choices and combat skills.

3. Increased player engagement:
By focusing on rewarding, good mechanics, players are likely to find PvP more engaging and rewarding.
Establishing a clear link between player choices and success in combat can foster a deeper connection to the game, enhancing the overall player satisfaction and long-term engagement.

4. Enhanced predictability and planning in PvP:
With less randomness, players can effectively plan their strategies and predict the outcomes of their actions.
This predictability does not mean battles become monotonous; instead, it allows for more nuanced and strategic gameplay where each decision has clear and understandable consequences.

5. Facilitating easier balancing and updates:
A system heavily reliant on randomness can be challenging to balance.
By simplifying or revising this mechanic, the developers might find it easier to implement future updates and balance changes, leading to a more stable and sustainable PvP environment.

Yours truly,

Lasite_Tapahtuma.

Yes, rng has no place in pvp. Let resistances apply only to pve

This has been asked way too many times for way too long. It's not a fun mechanic just get rid of resistances in pvp instead of buffing them like u did in AoS... Rng in applying ccs is not good for veteran player and it's not good for new players due to confusion it creates.

I 100% agree that resist need to go in the game I do think a flat Base of around 30% max resist is fine
also feel like it is a very low number, I also think all classes [including mine musa] should have their ignore resist removed
as come classes have a 30% ignore grab resist.

If you want to remove cc resistance so.. remove cc from ranged classes..

I would love removing resists from PvP. I think there should be a broad rework where that is one of the 3 main points:

1 - make classes far less protected in general by stripping several SAs/FGs per class across the board; spamming protected actions without decision-making is anti-fun and makes the gameplay shallow, and also makes grabs so important when some classes do have the privilege of easy perma-protections. The less protected people are, the less grabs will matter

2 - reduce the availability and quantity of CC abilities; not every random button press should cause a CC, more abilities should fall into distinct categories like "unprotected high damage ability," "protected low damage ability," "unprotected low damage crowd-control ability" -- ranged abilities should probably rarely have CCs as well, and any "teleport behind your back from afar and CC" abilities should be re-evaluated too. There is so much easy CC in the game right now, how does a new player even start learning?

3 - remove PvP resists. If you hit an opponent with a CC, it should work. If you want to avoid a CC, don't get hit by it. the RNG of resists feels awful and it cuts both ways.

A bit unrelated, and probably more controversial, but I also think they should add an option to show the protection icons above players in normal gameplay outside of battle arena. The learning curve for newer players is steep enough as is, and every new class or balance update that changes protections just adds even more to memorize.

the only thing imma throw in here besides being generally in favor of it is for classes having to stand still while doing some skills that execute slowly (succ corsair mermaid skills for example) it will be really hard to not be grabbed in it then again i guess id just have to get better at timing them so it could work.

while i generally agree with this, my class spec sadly relies on resistances (and even has skills that increase them, eventho thats not so good after last resistances reworks) to survive alot because it cant move. but if u give me more cancels and movements, we can talk.
