New player here and am wondering a few things regarding game play.

Would be great to meet some new people and learn this game..

Well lol now that we been doing research sadly all these years later hahah better late then never eh..

Okay, So pretty much gave up several games to come play over here on BDO and after the first day all I can say is well shoot sorry Star Wars and LOTRO lol as well as a few other games we currently had been playing...

Anyways, We are here just a couple of us to try and make BDO our new home, So with all that I'll just try to get to my questions lol.

Okay, At lvl 50 are you forced to pvp? Does the game infact force you to pvp?

Can you be attacked at any level if you are around the nodes that are having war?

And if you purchased one of the packages over the holidays like we did does that mean once the time that is counting down for the VP once it hits 0 or if it does hit 0 does that mean we have to purchase another pack? Kinda confused..Do we lose access to the gamepass we purchased? Or does that mean if we want the buffs once the VP is over we have to purchase another VP?

At lvl 50 you can be attacked by others and can attack others.
But this does not mean, you have to pvp.

Node wars only happen on Channel with a 1 (eg .Balenos 1, Serendia 1 ...). So if you stay away from these channels at node war times you should be OK.

You don't lose the access to the game or your gamepass, you only lose the VP buffs.
But you can get new VPs in the pearl shop or from events (time stacks)

Take your time and don't be afraid of openworld, pvp barely ever happens if that's what ur scared of since you don't lose anything from dying aside from the 5 seconds to respawn - only the one killing you loses karma and crystals/gear levels, after several kills bring them to negative karma and he eventually dies. There is no reward whatsoever in open world pvp, only punishment so nobody ever does it and since they removed gvgs open world pvp is pretty much dead.

I wouldn't worry about nodewars either, since - as I said - you don't lose anything from a pvp death in any case whatsoever if you didn't kill other players. Nodewars happen on designated channels and there will be a warning whenever they start, it is always the channel 1.

Valuepack is just a certain amount of buffs aka benefits you get for the time it lasts. If you have several, you can activate all to stack up the time. The biggest reason to get it is 30% return on marketplace sales. Think of it as a subscription.

Game pass has nothing to do with value pack and there are several items each providing separate benefits on a timer, think kamasylve buff to droprate/book of old moon for exp&skill change, etc. So plenty of ways to waste money. Game pass is not on a timer and does not provide buffs, all it does is provide items.

Yeah was more worried about lets say I am out at my fence lol doing some farming and suddenly a max level ninja for example jumps me and of course kills me as I am new to the game... This is just an example of what I was wondering. Of course when I have learned the game more I am sure pvp will come into the picture I mean I have some decent back ground pvp games but that is only after spending some time learning all about the classes and how to properly play them.

Yes, you can get ganked from level 50 and up. It's not exactly rare, but it isn't super common either. The most PvP is at popular grind spots and you can just do the Marni zone there if you don't care to fight for it. You may find you enjoy that kind of fighting too. But as for lifeskills, I've only been attacked when training up horses, and in a few years, no more than a handful of times. I know it happens to gatherers too, but it hasn't happened to me, and it hasn't happened while farming. 

The intent of disabling PvP up to level 49 was, I'm sure, to give you time to get used to the game. But honestly, once you figure things out, you can do that in just a few hours. You aren't going to get really accustomed to everything until 61 and beyond, because that's when gear becomes more important then level, that's when XP slows *way* down, and that's when a lot of content becomes possible that you can't touch earlier.

At level 50 you are eligible to forced PvP when you either fight or run.

After reaching level 50 you can be targeted, attacked, and killed anywhere in the world except safe zones, any number of times, without any reason given or explanation from assailants. This activity is not against any Terms of Service, the Support will not help you in any way.

If you pass near node war fights, yes you can and will be killed.

I don't think ganking happens much now that they changed pvp.

I've been ganked more off my horse by some rando red than I have vs mobs off Arsha.

IMO if you get used to arsha and aren't playing at a place where you can be fed to mobs, it kind of makes the experience more enjoyable. I've found people pretty respectful on arsha after arsha anon got added / pvp changes. If you stay out of people's stuff, there are a lot of people just trying to farm. There are people who will roam and look for pvp, and sometimes it's fun to get involved, but you can just ignore them and it's rare they keep their attention for long. I've made some good friends being camped on arsha lol.

The 50% drop buff has a way larger effect than that (imo.) It doesn't feel as monotonous, either.

For instance (lol sorry to turn this into an arsha / pvp advertisement ) you can party up with someone and double team a trouble maker if you want. Now that you can switch off scrolls it's a no brainer! Plus plenty of Arsha is dead. Altho there seem to be a few seasonals making their way in now. Def don't fear pvp in BDO! Just watch out that people don't stun you around mobs that can kill you because it will break your crystals / lightstones / you can lose experience.

Takes a perfect hit or some really strong mobs, though. I used to farm @ starz with like 309 dp on arsha on succ ranger and it was rare someone could properly feed me. They sure tried!
