Something I'd think would be fun is like a battle royale (100 against each other down to the last person within a shrinking map zone) like in fortnite - but instead of guns n' crazy characters, everyone would start at nothing and have to find gear/elixirs in chests along the way. I know this is something that has already been done with many other games - but it's always been fun to me.  I'm sure it'd have to be a whole separate server to run it or try it out.

It's an idea *shrug*

Its already happend to BDO- game name is Shadow Arena, turns out noone really was after the "fun" everyone was after rewards that come from doing nothing. PA decide to make a stand alone game, because this mode was "extra popular", but stand alone game had ~15players for few month's before its shoot down, because turn outs noone really was into it, its all was about getting feebies and here we go another round with AOS.

That didnt answer his question, how does it affect you?

How does  suggestion to fundamentally change game effects me ? Very good question - its change game type to a game i don't want to play, so yes its directly effecting me.

Damn. That sucks... the part about no one being after it for the fun, I mean. I just looked it up on steam and saw some of the reviews. I can see why it got shot down pretty fast.

The reason the Standalone version failed is pretty varied. For one, it wasnt the same game. It was super convoluted, had mandatory "remastered" graphics, with a lot of the downsides of it included, and the character controls were far far worse than in the BDO version of SA.

Secondly, to play SA you had to leave BDO, as it didnt work when played simultaneously iirc. So not only did you not get any income from it (which is a huge part of making people want to play a gamemode, even when the rewards arent gamebreakingly op), but you even gave up login rewards / afk income. Another part was the lack of advertisement anywhere, and the perpetual Beta state of the game. There was no connection with progressing your BDO account, it was completely separated, and weirdly monetised as well.

Basically, the redeeming elements of the game (having fun with friends through random matchups and targeted battles, having BDO-light controls, and offering a battlefield/pvp mode that still gave good income) were completely removed by making it standalone. In comparison, the standalone game still had all the flaws that the BDO game mode had (minus the hackers, but exaggerating other flaws through way worse combat and rules) and hid in obscurity without advertisement, whereas in BDO, frequent events and community actions / conversations with others would make it much more known and popular.
I mean, if you are hanging out with your guild, how likely are you to just go and play a 15 minute battlefield game with a few of them together, and then carry on after, instead of closing out of the game, starting another game, then wait in a longer queue, to play an even longer game? Its just way more inconvenient and unlikely to happen.

So yea, the reason the standalone game failed isnt just because people couldnt get broken rewards any more (and yes, with a Kama Blessing, the rewards were indeed broken back then, if you were any good at all), but rather because it removed all appealing elements without fixing the issues.

Its almost like we had this ... Something like shadow arena an then a specific company thought they could money grab from it an make it a seperate game killed it then never reinstated it back in to the original game they removed it from in the first place. Wonder which company would be so incompetent to do this...

Also this seperate game had more issues than bdo has ever had... Which says alot

Oh cmon, i'm don't believe people are so stupid, you perfectly undestnd what i'm saying i'm grow tired of this foolplay. You don't want to grind in a griding game and ask to get grind from "PVP minigame", while you can't even answer why you come to grinding game, cry for PVP minigame and years later you found out its dead and noone care about it you asking to boost rewards even more, maybe then people will play this minigame with you.

Kid, I'm here to enjoy gameplay and pvp system, Im not here to grind.
It seems u are stupid here only, u can't understand that any mechs and gameplay in the game is a part of the game.
You can call BlackSpirit minigame as a minigame, but not AOS - where u play against other players and use skills and gameplay mechs.
So if u dont wanna people who like pvp in this game it's your problem and grind games are allot, you can play SeriousSam and live here in the forum to write stupid ideeas.

About pvp rewards, they are too low and people dont wanna reg the AOS - i dont wanna spend my life in a game to get NW and other pvp content ( or how u cal them - pvp elements ) xD.

If devs increase pvp rewards, grind in the game will be same and pve players will grind same as was, pvp players will pvp more, then they will go NW after some gear and will be able to use not only AOS.
When i come to this game I know that its a grind game, but i told it to myself ( cmone cannot be that in  game with huge online all players like only to grind - I need to try ).
I like skills and gameplay / design and so on ... but im not interested in grinding and like i saw, there is a problem with pvp rewards and if they dont increase pvp rewards - i dont see what i can to do here .. its not for me.

Yes sure, you like to grind and grind will be same nr 1 rewards in the game and you dont wanna grind it anymore, because some people will do pvp in AOS )))).
Kid you don't wanna see rewards for AOS, because with time, some people will get gear and they will be competitive to potatos like you, who like to kill players in newbie farm zones, because u have gear and LMButton is enought for you ) !!!
And now i can say like you said, you can go to allot of dead games where is no pvp only grind dungeons and monsters )))

I am of the idea that pvp should be its own reward. If rewards are needed to incentivate people into pvp, then that is a good indicator that the pvp is so bad that people will only do it for said rewards and not because it is fun or fulfilling; which to me explains BDO, with blatant power-grab classes (pun intended), with win mechanics such as the grab-skill essentially being a win-button; classes with god mode; superspeed faster than a sprinting horse; you can now even tag any class you want and therefore not doing so means you are handicapping yourself and your team, making class selection just another item in your build rather than a basis to it; what pvp'er would ever be entertained for long with such a farse and mockery of skill-based competition? This is not competitive, this is a glorified card game, where the winning move is drawing out the best meta class.

My point is, to make pvp better and more lively, you don't need to reward it, you need to fix the core imbalance issues, mainly between the abysmal power differences and abilities among different classes.

I think the following video summarizes very well the current terrible state that BDO's pvp is in right now, pvp is simply not fun right now. "everyone looks bored and misserable"

Im not PRO in pvp and im beginner, but seems so.
Other's ppl opinion about PvP sounds the same, balance pvp and make something with desync and lags!
I think u cant give to a class Super Armor in a cicle, adjust movement skills and range for some classes like Ranger, Sage, Valkyrie, Drakania and Corsair.
Take off the grab or give it to all class's and make them only short range.
It's only my opinion and i think experienced pvp players can tell it more and better.
