Inconsistent and disappearing UI makes BDO look amateurish

Family Name: Ozonek

Region (NA/EU): EU

Suggestions/Comments:
- UI is extremely inconsistent in general, especially during new questlines, story and magnus quests.
- In some quests (combat ones) it disappears completely, so if you were talking to your guildmates, you're out of luck.
- Can't open inventory or use items during certain events (like the aforementioned combat quests).
- Some quests (like magnus ones) will move your on-screen hotkeys to default.
- Completely different ESC menu in Magnus.
- Skipping cutscenes is sometimes [R], sometimes [ESC], make up your mind please.
- On a side note, you advertise BDO on action combat, but if someone starts a game and chooses Land of Morning Light, they literally don't have a meaningful fight for many hours of pressing [R], most storyline encounters are just random mobs that stand around, don't even attack the player and die instantly in one hit with provided free gear. Surely players can handle a little bit of challenge and don't need to oneshot everything?
Anyway, wish you all the best in 2024.

This is good feedback

I hope that, as part of what PA discussed in their Calpheon Ball regarding the maintenance of older systems into the future, I hope they have some portion of their team focusing on UI consistency. Inconsistencies like what you discuss often go unnoticed by developers as they touch so many different systems over the years, but new players especially will notice them - even if not consciously noticing, even if a player doesn't put it into words, this stuff is what builds up a feeling of "bad UI."

And your side note as well - Many streamers visited BDO in the summer of 2023 and left feedback on the new player experience that matches what you are saying. Hopefully PA takes it to heart.

For me the UI is in general one of the worst, if not even the worst UI i have ever seen in a game.. and i have played maybe hundreds of games already within the last more than 20 years.. and for a MMO (have to name it, even BDO has almost 0 mmo aspects), BDO has probably the worst UI out of all MMO´s on the market.. Thats my opinion, correct me if you have seen worse than BDO xD

- The UI for me is looking terrible, like 10 different kinds of paterns and colors smashed together into the UI and nothing fits together colorwise or stylewise.. even amateur coders can design and put out something better as a UI than BDO´s trash UI..

- Than the next issue is, that i and nobody else who plays the game, cannot make it individual colors or adjust the sizes of every single widget..

- and to set it up is also a nightmare.. its same with the very poor Menu-Settings design..

just very poor handcraft.. if i would be a IT-Teacher i would let you thousand times fail through exams when you show me this crap of UI and Menu-Settings..
