Thanks for sharing your professional opinion! I will poke a GM regarding this for more visibility. But know that GMs have no weight in what gets added into the game, but I'm sure if they find what you have shared helpful they could push it to the ones developming the game in Korea.
PA is very skilled but as you know, it is very difficult to find people who know very specific skills particularly in Korea when the majority of professionals in this field are found elsewhere. Hopefully they will appreciate the volunteeer work you've provided for them and take it further than just consideration.
Just a few things to note, @DaiPinch, I would be willing to be you have extreme jitter going to the game servers. The networking in BDO is more similar to fighting games, not the other ones you compared to. If you just google jitter test or run a ping from your computer to a azure/aws server in the same region as EU BDO I bet you'll see the variance in your ping. I have around 60ms and I don't have that much frequent desync but my line is also extremely stable with low jitter.
I don't experience extreme jitters. I already stated that
with various tools pinging PA servers for stability on a second screen while I am playing.
the tools report various metrics and the connection is mostly stable. As stated, desyncs are occurring (with Succ Sorc Specifically: Getting Yanked back with a cc out of iframe, SA skill going off but still getting CC-ed, movement skill positioning not resolving correctly etc.) even when the connection is crispy stable. I also play on NA with 120-150 ping and experience the same frequency of desyncs despite having 5-6 times more ping.
This is what leads me to think that this is moreso with the netcode/server coding than server quality/distance. Again, as mentioned, there are plenty of games that resolve themselves properly with high ping and a large number of connection drops (most fighting games do as well) - BDO doesn't even under perfect conditions (as Korea felt for the first time when WoR was implemented there).
There was a certain point in BDO when there was a different priority to how CC-s were resolved server side and getting yoinked out of i-frames was a much rarer occurance. But they changed at some point to what it is today - every single grab class (along with mouse-to-aim classes like lahn/dk) can CC through an iframe 1/20~ times if they just keep on trying.
Its time for central servers. get a clue
