A patch is available that fixes the launcher. Its already been committed to ge-proton. I've compiled it and it's working great so far. Now to get the market working.
You know, changing the client and the launcher in any way is not allowed.
A fix has been pushed to Proton Experimental. Central market is now working. Looks like there might still be some issues with black spirit adventure and other web based windows.
EDIT: bsa has been fixed as well

None of this modifies the launcher or the client.
I did test today with Proton experimental bleeding egde. It working great on both steam only and from my current windows installation luanch from steam, launcher included.
I wait GE-Proton, it could very better with this flavour.
I will post if I get better solution, BDO wont start if NV_API is set to 1.
I did some more tests today with the updated Proton GE version for BDO.
The result is :
GE-Proton-8.30
the steam command line:
DXVK_CONFIG="dxgi.syncInterval=0" PROTON_ENABLE_NGX_UPDATER=1 PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 MANGOHUD=1 %command%
The mangohud is only used if you've installed it for an FPS check etc.
the dxvk config is for debriding FPS, but it's only really visible when you set it to low resolution for PvP.
The NV options are for Nvidia only.
Black Spirit Adventure still do not diplay correctly, but it work if you remind well the places of the buttons.
Cheers !

Black Spirit Adventure works perfectly if you use the Proton Experimental bleeding-edge beta rather than Proton-GE.
Im interested in this, what Distributiuon are people using and how good is FPS?

I use an arch-based distro, but honestly any up to date distro should work just fine. FPS seems to be basically identical to Windows, but some people are reporting RAM usage is a big higher. Some people are reporting frame dips, but I haven't gotten them myself. I've not take the time to go grinding yet though, so it may be related to that.

Yes, effectively, it works now.
On Ge-Proton-30 too.
Brief report after a few graphical tests :
Hardware, environment : AMD Ryzen 5, GeForce RTX 2060, VRAM 6Go, RAM 32Go, driver 535.154.05, screen 1920x1080 75hz, Fedora 39 mate-compiz.
After many tests, it appears that BDO dislike sharpening option in Nvidia profiles. Using it create micro freeze every sec.
Here is my actual options :
GLSyncToVblank=true, GLThreadedOptimizations=true, GLFSAAMode=8, GLLogMaxAniso=4, GLFSAAAppControlled=false, GLFSAAAppEnhanced=true, GLFSAAMode=5, OpenGLImageSettings=2 (perfomrance).
As said else where, Cinema mode and fullscreen increase FPS but there is no excessive difference between fullscreen and windowed fullscreen. Those mode wasn't used when the screen shot was taken and I get 70-77fps when I did (75hz screen)
To enhance render and control results, I used Mangohud through GOverlay and add some vkBasalt filters. Colourfulness increase color render in remastered mode, very.
My actual filters are : effects = FakeHDR:Colourfulness:Denoise:cas
Giving that kind of result :
Demoise is bluring texture in backbround (not really perfect) and FakeHDR increase severly line contrast, in real, only colourfulness is useful.
Remind you, it is here on PC, not SteamDeck.
If you have any suggestion to get a better behaviour, you're welcome !
