I was hoping War of the Roses would have been implemented in a manner that had nothing to do with guilds but it appears it is just another game feature that requires you to be in a "Leading Guild". 

It would be nice to see world PvP content that could be based off of an ingame multi-faction system instead. We need content that is organic, and happens on a regular basis, that doesn't require you to qualify or sign up. One where you could just show up and participate. 

I have been playing this game from release and like many players do not approach it further than casually, so I have no interest in the upkeep of joining a large guild. However this does not mean I do not enjoy PvP. It seems odd to me that there is no value seen in making your PvP content appeal to that type of player base.

You can join war of roses as part of the "Third Legion" which does not require you to be part of a leading guild (or any guild). These members will be chosen at random, with some given gear requirements (set at 680GS currently). 
Personally, for these types of organised pvp that rely on communication and people actually following assignments, having a leading guild that can facilitate that sounds pretty reasonable to me. 

How are people downvoting Minarya's response here, you guys really want some random commanding a 300 person army?

I think the idea of leading guilds commanding is so that at least the (up to 100) players they bring will be following orders leaving only 200 Third Legion players who let's be honest will mostly just rbf around...

You really want 300vs300 without guilds involved ?

It would be just a weekly RBF with desyncs, server lags and LeagueOfLegends Toxicity,no thank you.

War of the roses in my opninion should be 2 main guilds each team and 100 Legionaries that need to be in a guild, I dont want to pvp with nor against players who havent touched PvP at NW level at least once.

Imo to join it should be required to be part of guild that have at least 1 T5 node occupied and 720gs+ or it will be just 200 PVE undergeared, uncoordinated people that will be massacred entire war .
During this 300vs300 they will have to try fight 100 hardcapped people from two best guild in region.
Will be fun experience for 700gs pve players to be massacred by best hardcapped pvpers :)

I agree with OP. 

Node wars and siege are already guild based. 

Give us a pvp mode that isn't. Preferably faction based with 2-3 factions. 

Will it be like rbf? Maybe. But make it a bigger map.

Multiple people want to gatekeep pvp for some reason. Create a mode for everyone. They can gatekeep their node wars.

Will experienced pvpers shit on the pvers? Initially. Pvers will either get better and become pvpers or leave and never come back.
