everything under 90°C is absolut okay and thats how this CPU's work. there will be other games that do the same.
Lethal Company - 83° while loading seed
Return to Moria - 87° on spike
BDO - 85° on staring up the game
why do you even care, if its not throtteling, you doing good. if your cpu stays below 70°, you are doing something wrong with PBO settings.
furthermore BDO spikes in the cores, so not the cache. the cores are rated for 95°
Did you even read what other people said before posting. Wrong, x3d cores are rated for 89 degrees before throttling. 95 is when damage starts happening because the 3d V-cache is super sensitive and it literally sits on top of the cores. That's from AMD spec. To quote what another commenter said "A well known and trustworthy hardware channel killed a x3d CPU well below 100 degrees". And lastly my CPU ran below 70 degrees on high quality settings with 240 fps (limited to my refresh rate otherwise it would go higher if I let it), so no it's not wrong PBO settings. And again people have been experiencing it even idle or opening the shop, so stop trying to downplay the issue.
Tried logging in today and it crashed my windows after a little while.
Found this confusing, so I started up some monitoring on the other monitor and the temp of the CPU went from 60->90+ in a matter of seconds and crashed windows once again.
I'm using:
Processor: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Memory: Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 7200MHz CL34
Cooling: EK-Nucleus AIO 360 Dark
I tried starting some other games, doing benchmarks without seeing any noticable difference.
Core temp is good, running benchmarks runs well within what I would expect the temp to be.
A guildie of mine with similar specs tried the same things with similar results, no differencies in other games but in BDO.
No other game behaves like this and BDO worked great before XingCode was introduced.
I've created a support ticket (NENH634758) for this aswell, but it also means that I'm unable to play the game until it is fixed.
And even if I would manage to find some 'hacky' solution for this in the meantime, I'm scared that this would damage my hardware, as I've heard some rumours going around that it has caused some damage.
Hopefully this will be prioritized even though it's the weekend.
Cheers.
how do you even run 7200mhz ram on this system?

no the well known youtuber killed the processor because the high SoC voltage issue going on a while ago. and the cores are not the same as the vcache.
there are many people just have high spikes below the tjmax, they all can go out because its not an issue. thats how the CPU works by design.

can you just stop with your retarded bullshit here??
this is definitely BROKEN and will DAMAGE your hardware over time. temps went up by 30°, no other game or cpu stress benchmark does this.
even your UTTERLY STUPID reasons "it's all fine, it will just shut down" will possibly corrupt your windows, your files.
people reported hardware failures already, I can see the same thing happening, bdo behaves worse than malware at the moment.

absolut bullshit. there is nothing thats damages your CPU, because it will shut down before anyways.
stresstests are completly different load, which dont even use your vcache, you have zero knowledge about hardware, thats the biggest problem in here.
people with shutdown issue have a different problem like the one trying to run 7200mts ram on am5
it helps noone if you are panicin over nothing, because i have spikes regulary in different games like i said
why (tf) does cpu get hot even when u just open pearl shop?

yes now we all know that YOU don't have any problems. now stop trying to parent other people in the forum that it's no problem, when their boxes overheat and crash.
what are you even trying to accomplish here?
Everyone is telling you they never had such high spikes before this week's maint and you keep repeating the same thing like a broken plate. If something worked fine before, but suddenly doesn't, then it's broken, that's the definition of the word. And please stop trying to act all high and mightly, while claiming nobody besides you knows what they're talking about. Come on I'm waiting for you to explain to me how after the initial 10-20 minutes, my temperature is back down to 60 degrees, while there are no changes in power consumption, cpu usage or boost clocks.

that was already before the update.

maybe they changed something how the games loading, i told you its normal because you dont seem to understand and panicing like chicken. i have spikes all the time because i actually work with hardware and constantly testing and monitoring various systems.
just ask some tech then, this is like talking with children. but what i do expect from BDO Players...
