When i start my game now it is very laggy in startscreen and i noticed it reverts setting in start screen and puts on low power option among other things. When i go into settings on startup and disable it i get back my FPS etc. might wanna check this out if ur having spikes on startup or if it's just me.

Under no circumstances should a game developer be instructing users to mass disable all Windows services

I agree but they were only asking you disable 3rd party services (see the step that "hides all windows services"). Additionally, modern versions of windows won't let you disable certain critical sercurity services.

That said, what they are asking seems pretty silly and it feelsl like the move away from EAC was rushed without proper QA / rollout.

FWIW, I got the same response from support.

This is a workaround for right now that prevents the temps. By limiting the proccesser to 99% usage - it stops the crazy temps

After reading some of these current problems with AMD processors, I wanted to do some testing with my Intel 13700K. From what I can tell, there is some serious caching problems going on in the backend. I currently keep my fps capped at 120, and while standing still, it was a solid 120 fps, including both the 95%s and the 1%s, which is honestly incredible. BUT, as soon as I start to move, it all just tanks. The 95%s drop down to about 100 fps, and the 1%s are dropping as low as 20 fps.

Previously, before the patch swapping over to xigncode, it would not do this. Instead with EAC, there was just a frame hitch every 60-90 seconds, dropping the 1%s down to around 40-50fps, but it was mostly the same for moving vs standing still.

I am using Process Lasso to control both affinities and priority of the game.

Note: My temps are all perfectly fine, though. Nothing has noticeably changed since the update.

Current specs;
Intel 13700K, @ 5.4ghz (affinities on 2;4;6;8;10;12;14, tested on all cores and just p cores, this was best)
MSI Pro Z790 P DDR5 Wifi
32GB G.Skill DDR5 6400mhz CL32
MSI RTX 4080 Suprim X @ 2970mhz (GPU temps are between 40-45C)
1TB Crucial P5 Plus NVMe M.2 SSD PCIe 4.0 (game)
500GB Crucial P5 Plus NVMe M.2 SSD PCIe 4.0 (OS)
Thermalright Frost Commander 140 (CPU temps are between 45-55C)
Corsair RM1000x

I did also send this in as a ticket to at least try and help make sure that they're aware of everything.

EDIT: Forgot to also mention, the highest CPU thread usage I'm getting is only at 37% while playing. But overall, a caching problem could easily explain the problems with the X3D processors being hit so hard by this because that's their main feature.

With putting my power at 0% minimum, 99% maximum I am at 160-170 fps on 3440x1440 at high/high - CPU Temps are at 50C instead of 85C-94c - However, I can see visible hitches when xigncode tries to scan.

Any update from PA or in general about this situation?

The issue isn't just the loading screens though. Multiple people have reported their CPUs hitting temperatures close to the Tjmax just by having the game idle, grinding or even opening the Pearl shop. An issue that never happened prior to this week. It makes no sense that running benchmarks that squeeze my 7900x3d for all it's got run cooler than a 10 year old game.

On a separate note, while some of us have done the PBO curve and setting the Tjmax to lower than 89 degrees, many people don't have the technical knowledge or are scared of messing with their settings. In fact most people aren't even aware of what's happening to their AMD CPUs right now.

Even on stock settings before I had never seen my CPU break 70 degrees in BDO, let alone the 80 I see upon launching it since Thursday.

I reckon this is purely a Xigncode3 issue and PA should press them for a fix, before this thing becomes a way bigger deal than it already is.

I concur, the biggest issue I have now came across is that it seems to be too active while in tray. When I play other games, I get 20C° ~ degrees more when it's in tray even though my CPU is not even near 100% in task manager (for what it's worth I guess). So I suspect there is something going on with caching.
Don't know what is really going on under the hood, but it seems like leaving BDO open in the tray is not an option any more.
Hope there will be a solution to this...

If you have to manually change power plans or CPU usage limits, this means you shouldn't run an application/game that requires this because it means the game is too buggy. Don't risk damaging your computer.

To all the people here saying 90C is a normal temp for a ryzen cpu, no. No it's definitely not, that's the temperature threshold that your CPU can get to before it shuts down. Bluescreening is literally your computer trying to save itself from damage (think like the rev limiter on a car).

I have a 5800x3d and was affected by this issue. Affinity masking seemed to help my temperatures but I still don't want to boot up the game until this is fixed. I shouldn't have to limit what cores my CPU uses or undervolt it or anything to just run a game without hitting 90C at a low CPU load.

The fact that PA has not released a statement or a notice or anything even acknowledging this issue is honestly ridiculous

90C is not a normal temperature for any processor. I would say that if your CPU is reaching 85C in games, it means something is wrong with the CPU or the cooling. I have a ryzen 5900x which is also a "high temperature CPU" and in BDO on remaster it has never exceeded 70C.
