this is especially hilarious if you take the amd cpu raffle into account.

hey wanna win a CPU that we will later burn with xigncode? LUL

Your CPU is throttled to 90C to prevent damage. No need to scare people into thinking they are bricking their CPU.

I'm running the following:

7800x3d
AIO Corsair H100I Elite LCD XT Liquid CPU Cooler
32 gb RAM DDR5 6000 mhz
7900xtx
Windows 11 Pro
ROG Crosshair x670e Hero MB

Running at 2k resolution, full screen, High Texture setting on Remastered, FXAA for Anti-aliasing.  No upscaling

on initial start-up of BDO -> 89.5 C  for CPU spike

for about first 10 mins, would have occasional temp spikes in between 80 - 85 C
afterwards... things seem to settle to in-between 70 - 76 C with coolant temps hovering 40 - 42 C

when minimized to taskbar...  with Microsoft Edge running/streaming video... anywhere from 54 - 67 C w/ coolant 36 - 39 C

ambient room temp 71 - 74 F

All that being said... that initial start-up spike and follow on intermittent spikes for about the first 10 mins or so is def new since xigncode patch

Pearl Shop -> Hot and New section spikes to 78 C briefly before fans ramp up and bring it down to constant 75 C

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X and RX 6750 XT and my temps are't exceeding 60c but I swear my fans are a lot louder since the update.

Throttling isn't catching it fast enough - my CPU is set to throttle at 90c but still hitting 94c. 7800x3d with a EK360MM AIO

That is by far the highest spike I've seen mentioned and it still isn't enough to brick your CPU. Not saying 90C is optimal but it isn't going to instantly brick your CPU and melt your motherboard.

TJMax for Ryzen 7XXX series is 95c - there's been a couple 90-94c complaints but in the node war hub discord

Prolonged wear at 95c isn't good. My 3770x died from temperatures according to AMD when I did RMA after 2 years and that CPU only ever ran at 70c. Don't trust what manufacturers say tbh.

You are talking about wear for running hardware for years at those temps. It doesnt start to get immediatly dicey until 105+ish for some hardware. Some in the 110-115C range

You say that, but I used to work in the RMA department at a major computer retailer that you all know and love before I moved to deployment engineering and I don't buy it sometimes from these companies

I was wrong on the 95C TJMax, the TJMax of 7XXX3D models is 89c and popular youtube channel Gamers Nexus killed a 7800x3d at less than 100c. AMD says permanant danger can occur at 95c for these CPUs per manual yet the 7950x commonly hits 95c in all tests as shown by Gamers Nexus....so who do you trust?

Either way, there's no justification here - These CPU's used to run at 70c in BDO and then after a security update, they are running in the 90s. What gives, PA.

Remember the whole vsoc issues last year and burned CPUs, by going even a little above AMD design spec thanks to overvolting from the board partners? And some people, not just here report temperatures exceeding the safe operating limit, because the throttle algorithm can't react fast enough to instant spikes of 30+ degrees.

Even if chips don't start melting until 105 degrees, who's to say going above 89 won't cause issues with the 3d v-cache later on. You know the thing we paid a lot of money for, because of the performance benefits. So that limit is there for a reason, we're not trying trying to scare anyone, it's a legitimate concern and it baffles me that nobody from PA has popped in this thread yet to acknowledge it.

I have a Ryzen 3600 which spiked to nearly 89.3C after the BDO Xigncode update. I started keeping track of it after I heard of overheating issues with X3D chips but it appears the issue may also exist on other Ryzen chips. I've never seen this CPU in my setup hit above 80C while playing BDO. It is on the stock box cooler so I'll see it pop in the 70-80 range occasionally but its always averaged around 60-65C but anything above 80C is very unusual and extremely rare for my use case which is just YouTube and grind in BDO.

Changing Changing Processor Power Management settings in Power Options helped to bring the temps back down but I used to keep this setting at Min 100%, Max 100% before the update without issue. I've had to tune it down to Min 70% and Max 90% which seems to indicate that the process is really working the CPU hard for whatever reason. Power limiting or undervolting are the only things right now I've found that had any real impact on the higher than usual temps while running BDO.
