^ That's their pvp. It's not optimal, obv. They are the one who is repairing their ego. I'd just say, ok I'm gonna just keep hitting respawn, let me know when you feel better :D

haha, but I've played other pvp games. But yeah, being at high GS is tough because most people are used to rolling people when they have good gear, and they prol take it to heart when A. someone has better gear or B. They lose straight up.

That's their problem, tho. They are unhinged.

Edit: also, be flattered and let them know. haha. It's like oh you brought everyone. But yea that's a reality of 'true pvp,' imo. Not really much you can do about it except that it's a bit sad so many people wanna waste their time. Maybe they think they are making an impression, but haha. I'll take my time x however many people they wanna bring. People who camp me gotta spend time with me.

I Just read it about 2 hours ago.

The thing is if they would of addressed this specific issue 1st they wouldn't have had to anything further.

Majority of the care bears were upset about losing crystals as the main issue not simply dying.

As far as I am concerned, I tried to motive the community a year ago... after the changes were announced you have streamers like Blue Squadron who is for the changes "Hence himself and other's have been getting griefed and targeted in game".

Then understand why KR went from announcing it to implementing it in the same day. Do you realize how utterly fast that is? That means the company is actually terrified of the ramifications in KR around bullying and harassment. As another KR streamer put it, if someone took their life over bullying in the game, the chances of BDO not surviving and shutting down would be high. This includes female KR streamers experiencing harassment of an explicit nature in whispers. That is why they are coming down so hard on "chat PvP."

This is less of a "carebear" issue and PA, as a company, trying to protect their public image from the court of public opinion in their home country. I know huehotbar was covering the issue for two-days straight on his stream, I don't know if he's still talking about it and there are no videos posted about it on his YouTube channel. This is really an issue of KR social dynamics at this point (you know, the same reason all grab icons, black spirit's claws and shai dances were changed).

Hello, I haven't played BDO for about 6 months now and wanted to start again. It seems that a lot has changed. As someone who found the dynamics of open world PvP(vE) exciting, I'm wondering if there is still a meaningful reason to flag up today (after the open world pvp, guild wars, Server swap and Spot profit changes).

No it's dead, just change channel this is our ow pvp right now. Fighting for spot is total waste of time and only attacker takes risk. You have 2 arsha servers when you can fight till the end if the world and this is fun. In the end I understand PA's changes game cannot be dominated by old players, nowadays 1 year old player just one shot every newbie it's not the same game it was 4 years ago. Removing crystal loss in mob feeding feature is also good move, grefing should not be a solution. If someone does not want dfs you can change channel and stop wasting other time.

I don't understand why Ow PvP needs rules. If anything it needs rewards.

Rules are creating another dynamics to the owpvp ; ideally it allows pk while putting limits to it, it prevents players from coming back endlessly when they lose the fight, it protects the pve side of the game to be completely devoured by the pvp side, and conversely.

In short, it gives pvpve a meaning, a goal, and an end to the conflicts, with a clear winner.

Right now, most conflicts in BDO will last until one of the opponents get fed up by the situation and leave. That's not a healthy way to settle matters in a game.

Endless ks, or endless pk, choose your poison! Meanwhile, if like me you were looking for a balance in every aspect, you're literally forgotten.

Let's compare it with other games (not videogames) : aren't rules the things which guarantees fair-play and even fun? Would you find soccer interesting if there were no time - limit, and the match ends only when one of the team decided to leave? Even more stupid, what if the leading team of this match, 10-0, still loses because the other team is more stubborn? Since when stubbornness alone is supposed to give a "victory" in a game?

It's illogical, in bdo. If I want things to end in pure pvp, I'd choose RBF, solare, node war and so on. But in open field, owpvp is a tool, not an end.

I don't know if I manage to properly convey my vision of an owpvp with rules, but if some points still seem strange to you, just tell me! ;)

I hate to inject politics to an issue but here it is slapping you in the face..

Pick an issue... ANY ISSUE.....

Guns, abortion, woman's rights, BLM , LGBTQ+ , border, Ukraine,  Israel..

Everything you look at is a hot button issue, this usually comes with some sort of FORCED mandate by one side or the other..

The problem is that forcing one person to do something you want them to do will end in another person taking offense...

Bullying in KR didn't start out as just a fad it came about becouse PA is forcing its will on its players and some are fighting back with all they have left to get attention.

Be it right or wrong, social norms in KR this became a fight and a war PA is personally waging against its player base.

Black Desert is owned and operated by PA but without its players it doesn't exist. Just like politics in the US a majority just want to enjoy life and not be told what, how and why we have to think and beleive or behave a certain way.

You can't continue to punish players for playing your game the way they want to play it and continue to shut off things like OWPVP.  Becouse it is cyclical ...PA will continue to choke this game off and players will rebel even further one way or another.

The true problem here is Jay hee Kim and his direction for the game, pearl abyss are the ones to be blamed not the community.

I'm not a fan of politics, either, but bullying and harassment are not political issues, they are social ones until we're speaking on legality (in American law, harassment is defined, but bullying is not - socially, we interchange them, but legally there are important distinctions). However, it's another country with different laws and different enforcements and these changes are happening because of it. A company's first and foremost concern is their own protection. If this were an American company, it would be a different story and a lot of indifference, but it's not, it's South Korean.

Again, I would like to emphasize the speed in which Pearl Abyss not only announced these changes, but implemented them. It was less than 24 hours - this tells me they pulled everyone off whatever project to make sure that the system was in place and works as intended. No company does this unless this is a serious threat to the company.

If you would an alternative take to attack: No one in this thread it asking for Pearl Abyss to implement these changes only in Korea where the issue has manifest at its worst. NA and EU were the only regions to have the black robed man removed, something they just did with this crack down, showing they have the capacity to cherry pick changes. Instead, people are attacking the implementation as a product of protecting "carebears", killing open world PvP and other missed-marked views in lieu of the real reason. However, given how PA implemented the one-sided guild declaration changes despite the English boards asking to not do it, also a product of the Korean playerbase's issues, I suspect it will be met with equally deaf ears.

Politics or social issue... You both brought interesting points, really, no problem with this ; still, we shouldn't have to think that far in a game.

In a game, IG rules should be made to prevent nearly any issue, bullying or harassment. In fact, anytime a rule is not clear enough, players will try to distort it to their liking, that's human nature.

So, be it through a strict seperation, or with a really good set of rules, a dev shouldn't have to worry about politics or social issue. But if this dev is so inconsistent that he bends rules depending on the wind and sometimes needs to interfere because of the loopholes in the rules, yeah, players get used to it and it generates all those reactions. Every player will have his feeling of entitlement, when he should be making sure HE plays by the rules, and only the rules.

Nobody can deny a good set of rules, that's even a basic concept for a game ; but if limits are blurred, players will ask for their own sets of rules. That's more and more common in videogames.

In short, BDO should have good rules, preventing both endless pk and endless ks (with increasing penalties in both cases, but without permanent losses), an IG report functions (above all for verbal abuses, that's hard to control), and reactive GMs. If rules are good, and GMs are strict about verbal abuses, things will quickly get under control and requires less work from GMs.

I don't think the current mess is good for PA anyway, complaints only fuel the idea that harassment is common in BDO.

You can still flag up and kill other people just as before. Nothing has changed.

Flag up, enjoy world pvp, you'll be just fine.  Just don't be a creep and start following them channel to channel when they're obviously actively trying to get away from you.  There are people from both sides exaggerating the situation.  Truth is if you want to flag up and kill someone, you can.  Most people can enjoy open world pvp without the toxic griefing behaviors.

I didn't ask whether flag up is still possible, but whether there is still a sensible and meaningful reason for it. I'm not usually one who kills other players in the ow just for "fun" and risks getting red.
