The current state of war of the roses is very limited in terms of number of participants, time, schedule and capability of participants. I can say that the best thing about War of the Roses is that it caters to uncapped content players. However, we are slowly losing the open world system of this game due to the recent pvp/gvg/karma changes. Here are some suggestions to actually get an open world Faction War.

Current System (War schedule and Duration):
Once every 2 weeks. Sunday 3PM PST - 5PM PST. Odyllita 1 server
Suggestion:
Open world 24/7. Odyllita 1 server

Current System (Participant Pool and Selection):
Leading Guilds will be selected via Point System determined during the node war and conquest period. Third Legion participants has to have 680GS and have to pay 500mil registration and will be randomly selected
Suggestion:
Monthly, guilds will be assigned a random faction. This will a be a routine reset monthly. This reset is to ensure that factions are balanced. With the aid of GMs and CMs of the game to determine the balance of factions.

Current System (War Mechanic and Victory determination):
Factions once every 2 weeks will have a 300 vs 300 pool of particpants. Capturing Sanctums to obtain buffs and ultimately destroying the factions final boss which is the Narchillian for Kamasylvia side and the Sephir for Odyllita side. Whoever gets the most sanctums by the end of the alotted time wins or whoever destroys the final boss first wins.
Suggestion:
Odyllita 1 server will be a dedicated server for faction war. This means that the entire server is deemed as auto conflict zone between factions (just like arsha anonymous but faction based) this means that opposing factions can kill each other in the said server without losing karma and without the need to flag for pvp.
Kamasylvia and Odyllita regions will maintain the Sanctums and Castle bosses 24/7 this means that the server will be under endless war. To encourage players to participate, captured sanctums will provide wide array of Faction buffs (same idea with completing a C7 boss blitz but buff is exclusive to faction occupuying sanctums) The faction buffs will be applied to all playable channels except Node War and Arsha channels.
Non-Pvp guilds such as life skill guilds are encouraged to participate and help through the following:
• Food and Alchemy Crates can be turned in by players to assist with the war. Once a certain threshhold of alchemy and food crates are turned in, the faction will be allowed to summon NPC monsters to assist with the war.
• Sanctum Building and Repairing - Players with high life skill masteries are highly encouraged to rotate and repair sanctums destroyed by opposing factions. This means that when a sanctum is destroyed by the opposing faction there will be a downtime before they capture the said sanctum. The occupying faction must build the sanctum first and players with high lifeskill mastery will have faster capabilities to build or repair sanctums.
• Additional Islands with Sanctums - Sailors who enjoy naval battle will have to fight for a specific Islands with Sanctums in it.
When a castle boss dies a faction debuff will be applied. Locking The Faction from capturing Sanctums for 15mins.

Monetary reward individually twice a week
Suggestion:
Massive Guild Funds based on the participation of your guild on the said faction war.
• Points are determined by number of player kills, number of Sanctum NPC kills, number of help count when turning in food and alchemy crates, number of help count when repairing and building sanctums

This has some really great points and i'd definitely like to see some of these ideas - guilds being assigned a random faction monthly is a very nice idea. I can see how this would ensure balance, with the aid of GMs and CMs as suggested.
Yup, this, and to some extent NW/Siege, should've been a 24/7 life open conflict (instanced from the Pve world) alla GW2 or even Foxhole. It is what it is.

In addition to the suggestion. I think it will be good to have a monthly overview of which factions the guilds are assigned to. Like a Patch Notes kinda of an update but specifically only showing the factions and the guild under it.

I LOVE this idea. Opt in. Weekly pay based on participation and achievement of objectives.
This needs to stay relevant. This could be an actual integral part of BDO PvP.
Literally just copy what ESO has.
- Open-world
- 24/7, join at any time
- Weekly/Monthly campaigns
- Rewarded based on activity/contribution to your faction
- Multiple castles/forts to besiege and defend as well as open field battles
- Engaging siegeing process; capture surrounding resource nodes to weaken castle/fort (unlike BDO's boring siege gameplay)
- Simple destruction for castle/fort walls (adds flavour and alternate offensive/defensive strategies)
I don't know how they managed to create such a boring and limited game mode like War of the Roses. One thing I have noticed is that the large majority of content in this game is fixed to a strict and limited schedule; Arena of Solare, Old Moon Grand Prix, Node Wars/Siege, Guild League and War of the Roses. There's a lack of freedom, even field bosses are time to absurd "spawn windows" that force you to be near the computer.
This game needs more player freedom. Play when you want, however you want.
