If it did not remain "ABUNDANT" the catch rate would go from 11-12 minutes over to double that. Wake up - Devs have it perminetley set to ABUNDANT to prevnt a full out riot!

It's strange because they always reset (I can even look for my SS from other events to show you). Or at least the one in Heidel, because when there is a good event, I fish actively for the first hour and then move to another place.
I agree with you 100% that this is one of the worst events in the history of BDO. PA unnecessarily removed other fish and objects from the fishing zones and unnecessarily prolonged bite to as long as 11 minutes. Absurd time compared to about 90 sec of "ordinary" afk bite.
So zero yellow and blue fish for money from imperial and imperial tokens, zero relics and zero silver keys!!!
Maybe it's diff in diff spots plus you EU and I'm NA so who knows w bdo. I swear it was abundant after reset before but ever since the season changes and the plump coels Velia never seems to start off abundant and like you said even when it did the sea of people in these spots quickly drains it anyway

I fully agree with the author. The current fishing "event" is a massive nerf of overall fishing income. Also im not sure about that, but I guess the slow fishing also reduces the overall fishing exp massively.
I also don't understand the need of the 3m fish that you can currently fish when you not get the 6x 500k fish Catch. There is no difference for the amount of silver you get. Nor does the 3m fish have a use like exchange for a daily buff or anything else.
Positive mental Attitude:
The 14 days fishing rod with max afk speed is perfect for leveling in all non-event spots.

I honestly feel like this has to be bugged somehow and we should report it.
I know it specifically stated the bite time was intentionally raised but did they really mean to increase it to 11 minutes? That would imply they knowingly intended the event to yield 16-17mil silver per hour of participation.

Im fishing at velia now and it is classified as "Low".
I just started here and havenot caught anything yet. It has been 20 minutes.
Holy crap...not acceptable. They better fix this garbage!!!!

Fishing events have never been worth doing. Simply because the event area gets exhausted immediately.
Fishing in normal areas where the fish supply does not dwindle is and has always been better.
This just goes to show how PA does not care about making lifeskilling good.
And dont even get me started on how we dont have a mastery system for fishing that actually matters.
Manos Fishing Rod when? Manos Fishing Float when? Fishing mastery rework when?

Lots of GURU fishers telling you there is a problem. And for two days we hear crickets.
NOTHING! I guess that is how important Lifeskillers are to BDO. CHECK. GOT IT!

Its apparently a Korean event as this 2 weeks they afk to visit family - hence the 2 week rod/maxed so need for pets etc. I get that, and fine but this is not Korea and we are not playing on Korean servers. How true I don't know - read it somewhere (reddit probs).
This morning I moved up the river by Heidel - caught the 60m and the 25m fish using the event rod, filled tank with yellows and offloaded 450m in LOML. Been back for ther last few hours and caught naff all though so still not happy :(
Can't catch coelecanth unless in the event area so 2 weeks of nothing from Fughar...
Use the rod and its prize catch buff elsewhere I guess is the best move.
