Introduction: Implementing Peace Servers

Peace servers refer to servers where all forms of PvP are disabled. While this idea might seem daunting, I firmly believe it is the best solution for Black Desert's diverse player base, catering to both peaceful and PvP-oriented players.

Proposition: Creating a Balanced Environment

Currently, there are six server groups outside of the Season and Olvia servers. I propose converting 40-50% of these servers (2-3 server groups) into peace servers, completely disabling PvP activities, from flagging to guild wars.

Addressing PvP Player Concerns: Guild Declaration System Re-evaluation

For PvP players, the game already offers various avenues such as the War of the Roses and Guild League. However, with the introduction of peace servers, consideration should be given to revisiting the guild declaration system. Some players, myself included, find the organic open-world conflict to be a crucial aspect of the Black Desert experience.

Harassment Issues and Potential Resolutions: Enhancing Player Protection

While implementing peace servers is a positive step, it alone is not sufficient to prevent player harassment. To further protect players, I propose that peace servers have indefinite Marni Realm access, eliminating any potential for PvE conflict. Additionally, the in-game report system should be enhanced to cover all forms of harassment, ensuring thorough investigations and appropriate punishments.

Guild Declaration System: Reconsidering and Refining

With the introduction of peace servers, indefinite Marni Realm access, and an improved report system, the old guild declaration system can be re-implemented. If further refining is necessary, consider utilizing the existing guild category system (Combat, Life, Adventure) and disable Combat and Adventure guilds from declaring war on Life guilds.

Further Ideas for Consideration: Fine-Tuning the Experience

  • Consider disabling Marni Realm on non-peace servers to enhance server stability, PvE scarcity, and organic open-world warfare.
  • Reduce guild declaration time from 15 to 5 minutes.
  • Send negative Karma players (Red Players) to jail upon death, regardless of region, instead of crystal loss.

Conclusion:

Black Desert currently faces a divide between PvP and PvE players. By implementing peace servers, we can bridge this gap and ensure that all players can enjoy the game in their desired manner. I strongly believe that peace servers are the way forward, offering a balanced environment that caters to the diverse ambitions of Black Desert's player community.

This idea makes sense to me. It's simple and straightforward. The players who hate PvP want a place where they can be 100% safe. These "peace servers" as you describe them would give those players what they want.

Why make so many rules around guild wars of who can war who, who can accept or reject wars, and karma, and special systems for protections and marni realm every other hour and ultra-fast server transfers all to satisfy the crowd who wants to avoid PvP at all costs but still play the game, - when you can just give those guys their pvp-free peace worlds, and let the rest of the game be as free and wild as it ever was? Am I really missing something here?

It might be best to just split the servers into arsha and non-arsha servers (peaceful). Full pvp enabled with no karma loss and 50% drop rate. Of course that leads to potential exploitation, but regular arsha is already very empty and drop rate events are usually running nowadays, so.... Or maybe they could reduce karma penalties on regular servers, give them a 20% drop rate buff vs non-peaceful servers, and leave arsha as is. But as it stands, I see the introduction of permanent marni realm to be harmful without some kind of counterbalance that makes you want to step into a pvp realm. It would be nice to see gvgs return to popularity, instead of being a thing certain guilds do.

I think the problem is "i want pvp and i will kill you now".

Imo most ppl accept that you have to give up a spot to a stronger player. Some bad apples totally over do it.

Only if the "peace" servers have a -100% drop rate.

Also toxicity has risen not fallen since the removal of 1 sided decing and family wide Karma.  I had not been killed for months at random prior to family wide Karma, now that people can park an alt at a place like Pila Ku Jail and recover Neg 1m to max positive Karma in 20 minutes players go around just randomly killing anyone outside of town until resistance shows up then they recover their karma resulting in zero penalties for them.
