- Unified the icons of meat and blood items that can be interchangeable.
It kinda is, changing the Icons on some of the blood items but not all isn't a QoL update. Changing the animal blood to, thin blood, thick blood, dark blood, and collosal blood removing all the excess categories like sheep, pig, lizard ETC would have been QoL.
Additionally Tiger blood has the wrong icon. Tiger blood performs the same exact task in alchemy as Ogre and Troll blood.
The hides should be the same way. Tattered Thin Hide, Tattered Hard Hide, Tattered Fancy Reptile Hide and so on should be in place of the individual animal hides.
Agreed. The different bloods was one of the things that confused me the most when I started alchemy way back when. If EACH of the specific animal blood types actually did different recipes then specifying the animal would be necessary, but they don't - they are set up like you've mentioned as thick, thin, etc.
I came to post my own about this being a step in the wrong direction and found this already posted.
Basically to add: I've screwed up waragon and ogre blood before because they were almost identical across different blood groups. The icon change stops this.
Cool... BUT now when I go looking for what blood I have we have the same problem that all the meats have. The new problem is that you have to read every single one to see what you have. The entire reason why the meats are being consolidated was because this was an annoyance as well.
I am for needing the 6 different types of bloodgroups to make the crafted bloods, 5 different of gathered and 1 "group" of crafted, but they need to be consolidated further into only one blood with each specific icon instead. Deer and sheep bloods are in the same group, it should get the same item that stacks from both.
As it is right now I'd rather the icons had not changed at all.
If this is not the intended path of change to the end result of consolidating the bloods, a better way of making the blood groups more user friendly is to state it on the item instead as blood group 1, 2 or thin, thick, etc and revert the icon change.
EDIT: minor spelling.
