Simplified cooking quests... the game is getting less immersive and more simple-minded.

No thanks, PA.

Since we only had to hand over the food to Liana, the ever-present goddess of lifeskilling, there was no challenge to the quests.  They weren't hard.  They definitely didn't help immersion like they used to.

If you want this game to be so simple and stupid, why have us cook any different dishes at all?  Why not just call it food?  Well, I'm never making meat stew again.

Now the game is getting stupider and less immersive than ever.

Please stop this nonsense.

It's only the random quests you'd get while cooking. Oh no now it's only pickled veggies instead of fruit juice or meat stew that I never really wanted to do cuz it wasted meat or pita ones that needed dried fish and others I forget. It isn't some insane crazy everythings just food now. Judgeing by how emo you are about every tiny change maybe take a break from the game.

This change is very good. Pickled Vegetable requires simple ingredients that can be obtained from nodes, and in addition, we can choose the reward that interests us.

They had already "simplified" it enough with the Liana turn in.

On its own? It'd be "simply" disappointing, and should hav been left alone.  But combined with the removal of so much other detail?  Hell no...

"Houston, we have a problem."

I'm sure I will take a break, but what good would come of that?

Let's take a look at reality.

What good comes from eliminating something?

What good comes from always getting new stuff at the expense of the old?

Things build upon things.  The more that is eliminated and reduced, the less support things at the top have.

The more that is eliminated from early-mid game, the less fulfilling late game is.

The more actual progression is eliminated from the game, the less fulfilling end-game is.

The real problem here is immersion.  The less we have to do, the less we actually appreciate this world, because it is less tactile, less interactive, less alive.

I play for immersion, but if that is being destroyed, then yes, soon I will have no reason to play.  People need a reason to take the years to reach the end-game peak.  For me, it is not stomping in the face of my fellow man, as I climb to the top.

Peace

I get the immersion thing. I don't get how it appies to while I'm alone cooking in my residence some random quest pops up that some dudes in velia or calph need a specific dish that I'm not cooking and then I gotta stop to make that dish cuz they gonna trade me milk or onions for it. Players asked for some this crap to get simplified. Are they going to far probably but idk if some horse that I haven't ridden in 4 years that was just sitting in a stable or on some alt I don't use gettng upgraded to t6 with more speed value or even more seals/oblivion is something I'd get upset over but everyones different

Sometimes, it gets really funny how resistant to any change you are in every single post :) I stopped doing these quests a long time ago and just abandoned them, since it was a hassle juggling all these mats for minimal reward. This change might make me partially interested in that type of quests. Please, get on with your life instead of trying to repetitively philosophize about useless stuff. You will benefit from the realization that you are seriously over-invested in stupid tiny unimportant things here.

When you look back after some time on the time you spent, what will you see? An epic battle against pickled vegetables?

I am split on this one, on the one hand it's nice to be able to select from ALL the rewards, on the other hand the game is becoming a little too simple.
