BDO has been one of the best mmos for customization containing a wide variety of hairstyles that can be morphed and different bodystyles that can be created along with different colors to fit these things.

Buts its not the best and hasn't been updated since launch (Except for like three new universal hairstyles).

Things like body morphs are really good but are also limited to the basic body of said class (aka you can't stray too far from the orignal body which gives you a pre determined shape. It would be nice if you could edit a little bit more with a couple more places to morph.) Being able to morph the face depends extremely heavily on your class. For example, Maehwa has one of (if not) the largest range of morphs out of the female characters, Nova has pretty much 1/10 that range. Not to mention maehwa has a very flexible face compared to the base faces of others meaning you could easily edit the face of maehwa to the point where it looks completely different from the original, whereas sorc pretty much always looks like sorc because of the limitations.

Hair also follows this same problem. The exact same hair on one character is completely different in terms of being able to edit said hair to another character. Ranger has like 5 different circle to grab and move while lahn has much less and the hair morphs are considerably less as well.

This morph problem seems to get worse with chracters that have come out later in the game. (Some classes you can't even edit the hair or hair and they don't move at all, as well as other body parts and face.)

Hairstyles are also very lacking, I think a while back, we were supposed to make all hairstyles global for male and females but I think instead we just got three that were made global. Editable parts would have a crazy variety and make things fresh like splitting the head into sections (bangs, sides, back, top, etc).

Now we move on to color. Lets be honest here, color boxes are severely dated, Having a general color wheel would make the possibilities infinite. Most of the colors boxes don't even represent their advertised color because of the different materials (silk, leather like, metallic). The only argument I can see is the body being random and strange colors (even though dark blue, bright orange and pink are in the game.) which would be just to have a specific body color wheel apart from the rest.(also the whitest white just looks sickly instead of a bright and pale skin tone).

There are so many more intricacies which could be made better, (Eye colors overlapping too much, tattoos having a default color you cant change too much from, tons of body morphs that cant be changed, some bad hair color overlaps, lack of updated choices, and many many more modeling issues that exists with strange chin lines, sharps corners on skin, Elbows being indented when they bend which actually is a bug or just bad model rigging, and the list continues.)

Bdo is not that old but 6 years is a long time to add at least "something," anything. Iv'e seen mods for skyrim in 2012 that have taken the character creation further.

Mostly everything has been changed or updated in bdo but the character customization has been slacking. Really want to see something crazy to compliment the amazing graphics that BDO has.

On a personal note if an outfit gives you a new hairstyle with a hat, they should be separate. One with the hat that you can take off and only show the hair and one that just goes ontop of your current hairstyle. like the vediras hood, eperia marine hat, rakshande helmet, Grolia hat.

Did not see there was already someone requesting basically the same thing just with a different approach.
If you do not mind please check out the thread I made a day ago about a beauty salon overhaul. It is much appreciated if people give their input who actually do care about it.
It seriously needs an update. You bring up many things that should be taken into consideration.

Reviving this one from the land of dead threads. Cause it's still relevant. Actually just checked Maegu hairs again and I couldnt edit a single shape, not even for hairstyles that for other classes can be edited.

Also don't understand why not everything got a color wheel when that was finally introduced - skintone and iris color could REALLY use a color wheel.

Not only have they not updated much, they've also gotten lazier over time with newer classes. From less hair customization to nothing at all.  Just like how outfits and such can use some updates and a wardrobe function (and preferably hairstyle changes from helmet pieces getting split from the accessory... sometimes I like the accessory but not the hairstyle it changes yours into, or the other way around).

It's also been almost 8 years now and we've gotten many many outfits and classes that we wouldnt have associated with BDO or thought they would be lore-friendly enough to be added, yet they have been, so I don't uderstand why we cant have some longer hair (bum length or more) for at least straight hair or ponytail, or addition of several types of twintails that arent only on specific helmets (though helmets getting them is a step I guess... the bangs on the latest one are sadly a bit boring and the hair too short, in my opinion. Almost every time we've gotten them they've been really short).

Anyway...

Customization updates. Still relevant.
