The Online/Offline status is a great idea - That will definitely save you the hassle of DMing messages to see if they're online.

As well as if they're offline for a very long time, you can determine their activity before even talking with them. If they're offline for two weeks, they might not be active enough for your guild.

---

Also the animated icon idea would be cool for Officers+ (Maybe toggleable in settings)

If someone is given a responsibility to help invite, it shouldn't be all put in a single person's lap. A simple reminder can help keep everyone on track.

Though one drawback is if someone applied and is inactive, you wouldn't want to have a symbol bouncing for a week straight - So maybe it could be like the dark rift, and change after you view it, but when it's empty the symbol disappears?

One small problem with the online/offline thing, Some players, like me log out only on Patch day.  I have a 2nd computer that Runs BDO when i'm not actively playing it, Either I have a character hitting dummies or AFK fishing We also need some sort of "away" feature where when someone whispers you, you can set an auto reply, Sorry I am doing an AFK activity.  When a person comes back from being afk, Triggered by the first movement key set, it should resend all the whispers in the form of "while you were away, you got THIS message", or even have those messages to straight to the mail.

These would all be very nice changes.

I've noticed over the past month or so, less than half of everyone being whispered to, that are online, ever respond.

This is either the fact that he/she is just AFKing or chat is going super fast and they don't notice it.
Or that they don't have their chat configured and don't see the messages period.

You have to have them respond to you to add them (By clicking their name), or meet them in person - Both requiring responses from Whispers and being on the same Server.
---
If any of you also seem to have issues with responses, it makes me wonder if Whispers are not the way to go.
That a global acceptance button and/or default contracts on approval (configurable) or some alternative should be the standard.

You can still whisper, incase you prefer talking to them first, and accept the way you currently do; but individuals applying currently seem to think you can accept from anywhere, and it makes it frustrating on both ends to meet up.

In my opinion, the entire guild's system in Black Desert Online is outdated. The only reason you have to be in a guild, it's to be a part of a "community" but we can all agree that's useless. Actually, it's better for you to be guildless because now, you can just merc.

The whole system needs to be rewamp. It becomes very hard to recruit on BDO because we have limited tools. You idea is good, it should be great to send an automatic contract to a player when he's timer is gone or when he just connects himself in game.

But in my opinion, it's not enough.

Guilds should get their own speciality or something which make them more attractive. All guilds are the same and players prefer to join an old guild with 900 points with a lot of ghost inside just for the buff and the structure which isn't going to move.

But in the same time, too much new players like to create their own little guild which is going to die in few weeks because it's hard to recruit.

So Pearl Abyss has two thing to do, create attractivity between guilds by adding new stuffs. And in second time, remove the capacity to new players to create their own guild directly after being on the game since 5 hours. It should be lock for a month.

Also the guild's management is horrible, for exemple, a guild master can't even create his own role in his own guild. He change just put somebody Quarter Masters, Cannonners, Officiers and Adivsor. There is no real freedom. Pa just added preset and it was done.

I dunno, that's my opinion about it.

There is lot of stuff to change about Guild's system.

Hopefully your first concern won't be as much of an issue after next Weekend - if there's any ghost accounts, they'll be deleted with the transfer wipe.

----

The second issue would have guild list decluttered just a little bit - I've had quite a few people make solo guilds, then delete them, and try sending guild requests or whispers - Then when we try inviting I have to inform them to wait a day.

It is in the contracts that say this, but it might need highlighted more.

----

I would love your last suggestion- You don't always want to give everyone full permission, but maybe want a lot more people to control guild missions or invite individuals- It would give guilds a better sense of uniqueness.

Thanks for the feedback & suggestions c:

Ghost accounts that didn't transfer are no longer in the guild roster, so that's not an issue. Still, the problem only goes away for a while and ghost accounts start piling up on guild rosters again. However, there are only a few instances where a guild actually would want to purge their roster off these ghost accounts, since guild missions and weekly support funds are tied to guild size bracket.

I agree recruitment in BDO has been made overly complicated. And it's not helping that unless you have a player either in your guild or on your friends list, there's no way of knowing if they're offline or online. Furthermore, there is no indicator in the game for a player being AFK, voluntary or otherwise. You can whisper a prospect guild member a 100 times and they might miss your message, simply because they're AFK and have not set up their chat channels so that your whisper isn't immediately drowned in meaningless spam.

But I also agree the guild system as whole in BDO is quite archaic and would need a lot of love to bring it up-to-date with competing games' guild systems. Guild Houses are needlessly limited and as such, expensive to maintain. Guilds only ever rent one for building a galley or an elephant and then get rid of it as soon as possible to avoid the upkeep fee. Ranks should be customizable for their rights. Bonuses for guild skills should be updated into today's standards (10% exp bonus lol). Galleys should be updated and/or a bigger one introduced to match/surpass the power of single-player manned carracks. Etc. etc.

Still an issue that needs addressed - Probably went through another 40~50 people sending recruitment requests, yet only a few of them respond. (If they're online)

The recruitment process is still unknown for most people; that it requires same server access, aswell as both being online - Not to mention if you don't have a seasonal, you're locked out of inviting someone from there.

Did have a few people DM me things that brings up a few good points that might need addressed:

- The contract fee dissuaded individuals, thinking they have to pay money constantly.

- Individuals advertising 1m or 5m guild payout is misleading - You can't pay people that immediately, and it makes potential members confused when you tell them about contract renewals

- The interface is misleading; people are unaware of having to manually collect daily pay
