A little background. I haven't played for a couple of years and decided to come back. Yea, I know, things have changed a lot. I started by creating a couple of season characters to get back into the feel of things. Ran through the storyline in Land of the Morning Light and Mountain of Eternal Winter since I had not done those before.
After completing those storylines and getting a better feel, I decided to log on to my old main character and work on obtaining some missed knowledge in the two areas. The first thing I found was I can't obtain the knowledge of a character on:
Characters > Morning Light: People of Doonghae Province > Founders of Donghae Province > Lee Mongryong
After searching the internet and several websites it appears if you do not obtain his knowledge while completing the main quest line for LoML you cannot obtain it afterwords. Unless, that is, you create a new character and complete the main LoML quest line again. The character icon and question mark show up on the map, but there is no one at that location.
The second problem was:
Adventure Logs > Mountain of Eternal Winter Logs >Everfrost Adventure Log I > Murrowak Carnelian
> Murrowak Food Storage
> Murrowak Spawning Tower
> Murrowak Parasitic Mushroom
It appears this knowledge also must be obtained during the main quest or cannot be obtained without creating a new character. I also noticed many of the NPCs in the Mountain of Eternal Winter are not showing up at all for other characters, just the one I completed the main story line with.
Are these some type of bugs? Am I missing something simple? It seems kind of poorly designed when another character cannot see NPCs in other regions and cannot obtain knowledge unless a new character must be created and the entire story line repeated.
Some of the LOML knowledge depends on "crossroad" quest choices. There's knowledge like that in the Balenos questlne as well. There you have to run it 3 or 4 times to get everything. Pretty standard BDO. There's not a lot of it like that. And yes, the crossroads that a character chooses does affect the game world around them in minor ways. That was the point.
It's always been like this with Main quests. The only way to get all the knowledge is to run them all twice. At least at the crossroads selection they now tell you how many times you've picked a particular path.

That was a very welcome QoL addition IMO.
