Hello, I want to share with you the most annoying and difficult knowledge you can get in Black Desert Online.
- Cadry Chief Gatekeeper

So far I am nearly 300 hours deep trying to get this knowledge.

Some months ago Pearl Abyss removed the fixed spawn of ''Cadry Chief Gatekeeper'' and replaced it with a new mechanic were 2 different 'ELITE' monsters appear at certain rate while grinding.

One of them is the ''Cadry Commander'' The spawn rate is good, you can get around 3 spawns a hour.

The second is the ''Cadry Chief Gatekeeper'' and is the only who can give you the knowledge.

The problem is, the spawn rate is extremely low, on average the ''Cadry Chief Gatekeeper'' spawns once every 5h, I've grind 10h without a single spawn, and it happens very often. The knowledge chance is lower than compass piece.

The best solution to this issue is to completely remove the ''Cadry Commander'' and replace it with the ''Cadry Chief Gatekeeper'' with the same spawn rate of ''Cadry Commander''

To be honest I do not know why pearl abyss changed the old Cadry gatekeeper system, and make Veterans and knowledge hunters grind infinite hours to get a simple knowledge.
There is no other knowledge as difficult as this one. And this type of knowledge shouldn't be hard to get. 300h and no knowledge. This is not a map piece... This is knowledge. Fix it please.

Wait. They actually removed the old Gatekeepers now?  When did that happen?  I thought they had done that originally when they introduced the random spawns, but then I ran into the real gatekeeper on my season char and got stomped.

Edit: The originals seem to be gone indeed.  They should about quadruple the spawn rate of the random gatekeepers, not just at Cadrys, but also Fogans and Nagas.

But the Commander is also a knowledge entry, so they shouldn't just be removed.

I still have PTSD from the gatekeeper back when I was severly undergeared and had no business fighting a boss of his caliber. Surely I can do this right? I thought. It can't be THAT bad right? I thought. As I proceeded to get descecrated & my crystals broken back when crystals were still slotted in your armor pieces. Needless to say I stopped going to the desert after that one haha. Sorry for being off topic! Im honestly amazed at your post, 300h and still no knowledge proc is insane man. I hope the next time you fight him you get it & in future they really make it # of times youve defeated it or you can scour the ends of Black Desert to find a book on the gatekeeper. Then upon reading it for some exchange of energy you instantly gain knowledge. And if you didn't gain 'S rank' knowledge on the first read, you can keep reading it until you do. 

No. Gatekeepers spawn the same way. There are additional Gatekeepers (much easier to defeat) that can spawn while killing mobs (but this chance is unrealistically small, probably around 0.1%). The spawn system of Cadry Commader and Shadow of Gahaz has been changed (they do not have static spawn places, but now respawn when killing mobs).

Trying to gain knowledge from Gatekeepers is doomed to failure. This knowledge should be available from NPCs (same as Katzvariak (field boss, not Kvariak special "mini boss"). 

Soon, after many years, it will be possible to gain knowledge from Garmoth.

It's not really that hard to get Knowledge on the Gate Keeper, much much easeir than before.  There is no reason to "switch" the mobs, the mob that drops 3x the loot should be harder to spawn.

The Cadry Chief Gate Keeper now camps permanently at a spot.  You can see him anytime if you like.  You can find him at the foot of the cliff if you make your way to Anne Laker, the NPC that gives the daily quest "Do you Want to Tango?"

By the way he's still tough.

Correct on the last 2 posts.  I thought the "old" gatekeeper was gone as well.  They moved it so that it's not in the middle of that lake or the grind rotations.  It's off to the side all alone now.
