There have been many ongoing discussions that seem to be overlooked as it pertains to balancing of classes.  How PVP has been ruined as of late due to the lack of balance in this area. The message has been strongly conveyed by community members of much higher relevancy than I and wanted to call it back out as something that I think should be addressed.  I played DK for years with literally hundreds of days of play time but gave it up to play one of the Big Four (Succ Valk) because my class just wasn't viable in PVP.

Frosty created a letter and a reddit post discussing the issues caused and I think it's super relevant and would appreciate it's consideration:

All bets was off for Balance in BDO when the Devs implemented costume melting. As I recalled that day I watched hundreds of PEN attempts being spammed. Before that day I never saw so many PENs being created in 3 months as I did that day. At that point Balance was gone. The last of BDO's integrity was sold off for short term profits.

Nothing in the history of BDO. Has done nearly as much damage to balance as costume melting did.

What does melting costumes have to do with balance? Unless you're talking about wealth inequality or something which has nothing to do with class balance lol. I would argue that gear balance has never been as good as it is now. Prior to costume melting, there were people that were legit unkillable because by rng or overwhelming playtime they had gear that made them invincible. Now? Just look at people streaming with 700+ GS. 80 extra DP and all it means is you can survive a couple more skills.

Regarding the original discussion...

I'm not sure I would say there are any classes that are "not viable in PvP". There are definitely some on the lower end and some on the higher end, but every class has the potential to be impactful in nodewars (That's what I assume you're talking about). Not every class is useful in defending a castle from the walls certainly... but that's just how it is.

Succ wizard just needs to have either its mobility, damage, utlility, or survivability toned down. Any one of those 4 go away and the class would be fine, it's just a perfect storm of all 4 combined that makes the class incredible at large-scale and average or above-average at everything else. And having fought succ witches and succ wizards for a while in NW and 1v1s, I would say that succ witch isn't even on the same level as succ wizard. 

A succ wizard without utility would be a Sage. A succ wizard without mobility would be an awakend wizard. A succ wizard without damage would be a shai. A succ wizard without survivability would be...no clue.

He suggesting that PA stopped carrying about any form of balance when outfit melting was added. But that just wrong cause PA stopped caring about balance the day they added awakening kits. The difference in class power literally exploded when that happened. And PA has done nothing sense than to address the massive difference in class power. In fact PA took advantage of class power imbalances to encourage hard rerolls, sell weapon coupons, and character bound item sales. 

Take DK for example when she first came out she was the most OPed class in the game. Everyone rolled to her cause she was unmatched by any other class an was 100% the meta. She stayed that way for 6 months until striker was the new class. That same time frame DK was nerfed into a unplayable state an put into a grave to die. While striker was the newest class an also the new meta cause of how strong he was at release. This game design pattern repeat it self with every new class sense, with than Mystic, Archer, Lahn, Guardian.

It only stopped with hash, cause at this time they thought of a new way to encourage rerolls. Shiting out a new class with a new seasonal server. Thus why we're had 3 new classes in the last 5 months.

Theoretically having all classes balanced perfectly is a given. But doing so with all the moving parts, skills and playstyles is another thing. It is incredibly hard to balance a game with differing results in different regions too. Eg. succ wiz is not an issue in KR but is something that NA is quite vocal about.

Idk go to 22:50 in this video an tell me KR players don't think succ wizard is an issue. Ignorance is no excuse for spouting false informaton. Maybe do bit more research before you post something you know nothing about.

The video seems very accurate...he also stated the 3 specs he felt was weakest shorty after he stated the strong ones.The ones he stated was weaker are what should be the main focus since PA did state their goal was not to nerf the strong but instead buff the weak.

Funny how people attempt to ruin the OP with their cash shop propaganda that has nothing to do with class balance yet QQpin doesn't lift any finger.
