The biggest problem by far and this goes for all forms of fishing is not precisely the rate of yellow fish, but the high rates of green fish and how they serve absolutely no purpose.
- They give next to no fishing xp.
- Their silver value is mere 1% of yellow fish
- They dont stack so you cant even mass process to use them for cooking/trade crates
On my test of 193 harpoons at Sausan Islands pool:
Ray: 108
Swellfish: 24
Grouper: 36
Minke Whale: 15
Giant Grouper: 9
Spermwhale: 0 (!?!?)
Black Spotted Dolphin: 1
Which gives us:
Green: 55,96%
Blue: 12,44%
Yellow: 31,08
Prize: 0,7%
NOW; Imagine grinding at normal Oluns (one pack takes about as long as one harpoon)
BUT you would have a 55,96% chance of getting faulty trash loot at only 1% value and another 12,44% chance of trash with 5% value of normal loot.
AND on top of that all of your trash looted would be on a timer and start decaying so you would be limited to one hour or the value of your previous would start to rot.
It's not like you would most likely get dirt and bones from gathering, scraps of leather instead of hides from hunting, why is this a thing for fishing.
As some suggestion to fix this:
A: Upgrade green fish into blue fish + increase the blue fish value min. 50% of yellow fish value
B: Give us ways to reduce the chance of getting a green grade fish with meaningful +% rate (not like 5% chance for getting a rare fish, 5% extra chance for less than 1% chance fishes is more of an insult than anything else)
C: Add relics to harpoon pools BUT NOT at the cost of chance for blue/yellow fish (possibly make mastery to give multiple like literally any other resource gathering)
D: Make green fish stackable material without decay time that can be mass processed and used for cooking/trading (personally not a big fan of this because I feel it would not be impactful enough alone, but a needed addition if green fish will stay in the game.)
I support this post.
Dear PA, please do something about harpooning.
Black Desert should'nt have so many dead activities.
