Hi,

So basically the changes to the way the UI does quest windows in the patch on 9th april 2024,

where the quest window is now appearing translucent, and moving relatively slow to the middle of the screen,

The frequency (speed) of this window movement is now within the motion sickness 'band'.

So, I'm already getting queezy from this after 10-20 quest window popups.

This is a technical issue, with motion within a specific frequency range causing motion sickness (its defined in EU engineering standards, and i assume others).

e.g. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6241144/ lists its usually around  0.2 Hz to 0.4 Hz, so 2.5 seconds to 5 seconds for a full period of oscilation, and rough-as-guts a quarter to half these times for something randomly appearing and moving into the screen, then disapearing, from the resulting train of windows from multiple popups and mashing 'R'.

I expect that my experience wont be isolated, and this will now affect a percentage of the userbase.

So, can we get a toggle to turn this on/off, at the bare minimum?

edit:  and I guess the 9/4/24 update, should be christened the "BDO's Vomit-tastic Update"  .  A comparable bug basically killed Marvel Heroes, back in the day, with 97% of the user base quitting in a period of 2 weeks after changes to movement which caused motion sickness in basically everyone, which the Marvel Heroes devs refused to repair. So I wouldnt recomend dismissing this devs :)

This was a terrible UI design change, I don't know who asked for it (usually nobody), but it does nothing to improve the experience, on the contrary it just annoys most people and forces you to spend more time in menus for no good reason.

Absulutely horrible change that literaly no one asked for. Whoever thought this was a good idea should probably be fired before they completely ruin the game.

.... I rarely to never post.
Hello, I'm a huge quester and it's one of the things I really enjoy in BDO. Questing in this game was the first thing I fell in love with BDO. I was able to "R" it at my own pace the first time reading the lore. However, after on one character and questing on all 28 characters questing, I like the "spamming" R option. With this new quest interval sliding thing, I grew impatient and it irritates me because I have to know which quests to "R" and which quests not to "R." In between w the sliding intervals it has now, it slows my ability to "spam" R. ESPECIALLY, when I have to do it on 28 characters. I don't think I want to read ALL 28 characters' quest every time. Aside from the main story questline, this includes side quests as well as daily quests. IF this applies to ALL questing types, I think and feel like many would feel uncomfortable doing "daily sliding quests" every time.

I do concur w KillerMuppett that if we can turn this option On and OFF  in the settings menu. Pertaining with his statement, there are other people we do not know who do or will have motion sickness. I hope this is taken into consideration that motion sickness can be related w epilepsy. I am not diagnose w it but there are some who might have it. If they have it, it would be hard for them to play or enjoy BDO questing or just to get through the questing to focus in other aspects of the game.

I like the "spamming" R option.

Correct, now you can't do that and because of this change, instead of accepting quests, I accidentally received 2 crio chairs.
Now I have 2 items that I didn't want, don't want and can't sell.
