Horse wagons and 180 degree turns

Would giving horse wagons 180-degree turns be detrimental? I am sure some of the horse trainers know the annoyance of horses and that million-degree turn they have when pathing. So how massively overpowered would it be for an instant 180-degree turn?

Currently wagons often cause collision and mess up autopathing for players (guy autopathing in Hiedel on Sunday kept pushing players and got stuck on top of the market preventing access) and horses. Allowing 180 degree turns would attract more wagon trainers to towns causing even worse fps and more collision disrupting strength training and single horse training. You ever see the hilarious mangled mess two wagons create when crashing...amplify that by 10 in Velia where fps is already bad enough.  It'd make questing a pita for sure unless you weren't using auto. Try bartering for a few weeks, even with open ocean players get blocked out of docking and auto bartering. In a congested town it'd just be too much. It's not a bad idea and sure maybe some will use it responsibly but as with all things in BDO from mappers to rmt, some folks will f it up for everyone and a train of wagons traveling through town kinda Ruins the fun.

I think you alluded to a bigger issue with BDO in that it allows people to stay in town without the option to derender them. This is the same issue with boats that are parked for hours on end which tend to eat up resources as well as deplete FPS.

When in a safe zone, there is no concern to see everyone. So it should be an option to just derender everything else besides objects pertaining to the user in the same way that collision isn't an issue in safe zones.

Many have suggested the option of derendering these objects, but pearl abyss hasn't given consideration. What I found interesting about this whole situation is that tents can now be derendered at the player's discretion. What sort of schism allows this to be implemented for tents but not other annoying variables within the same category? It remains a mystery.

Lots of players in town = game is alive

Or so is the thought perpetuated by this imo

Agreed, but it's silly. When you are the user and derender everything that's not necessary, the world doesn't see it. So not having the option at this point is just low IQ thought.

I think a 180 turn would likely take away from the realism of the wagon.

We have pegasus, elves, horses that breathe fire, witches, teleportations, horse that can do tokyo drifts....

Realism is long out of the game lol

Not really, actually BDO features some realistic aspects such as exclusive storage and necessity to travel across the world. Exceptions such as the ones you mentionned are not any excuse to remove realistic and coherent features, because doing such lead to people riding police cars in the middle age fantasy world of TERA.

Would you enjoy seeing police cars going around in BDO in the name of "realism is long out of the game" ?

Personally, seeing wagons with low manoeuverability isn't shocking at all to me.

How to hypocritically insult people while pretending not doing it. Fascinating.
