I've seen some quite re****ed programming, but gosh, the new fishing mechanics with the family life tool update are quite something. Way to go, Pearl Abyss! Why don't you require us to do some kind of voodoo cr*p first, before we can even equip the fishing rod?!?!?!??

agree, reverse changes with fishing gear this is seriouslty making me mad, not a joke. i want to change weapon and rods/tools like before just pressing a **** hotkey number. now i have to find a key, press it with my right hand and now i have to ****** switch my hand to select fishing gear with a mouse. OOOOOORRRRRR at least give option to change this (') stupid key, bind it to players desired button.

that circle or changing gear does noting it only use what you have in place

What you mean, it äoes nothing? You can change from wepons to rod and/or harpoon with it.
(hold the key - move your mouse in the direction of the thing you want to equip, eg. down for rod, until it lights up - release the key)
But yes, the key needs to be customisable.

After thinking about the UI changes and how its affected fishing this is how PA could have gone about the update. They could have use the interact bubble that pops up prompting you to interact with the R key. So for example, if you're standing next to a body of water that you can fish, the interact bubble pops up. If you then press R your character is equiped with the fishing rod, and you can select the level of your catch and not to board a boat option, then press space bar to fish. Easy peasy.

it does nothing all to start fising is put up gear in the slot and hit the corss sworeds and then the poll icon show or harpoon if you pick the poll you fish with it you will be using what ever on the life screen the circle is what has people so confussed and having all the pole and flots the same

The circle menu äoes the same as the icon! it switches your gear!

I was searching for a guide to find different key on different keyboard layouts and found this site:
you can search for your layout (http://kbdlayout.info/KBDFR or http://kbdlayout.info/kbdbe for you)
and on the next site you select "virtual keys" and look for the key which says "OEM 7".
You can also use this JavaScript Keycode helper: https://www.toptal.com/developers/keycode
and press every key until u find the correct keycode (222).
