How necessary is switching into and out of the main hand skillset in PvP when using Maegu's Awa?

I get conflicting opinions on this. Some Maegus into PvP claim she has enough in the way of self-healing, S-Block strength, mobility and low enough cooldowns on her protected skills that she can get away with ignoring the fact her 'main' skillset exists. Some, however, say the opposite. Is it up to preference, or is using your 'main' skillset mandatory if you want to participate in PvP? Thank you!

You're missing out on 7 SAs, 1 iFrame, 3 FGs, 1KD, 1 Float, and 2 Stiffs by ignoring non-awa. Most of which have an insane range.
While you can play [Awa] classes by ignoring the main skillset, you're basically gimping yourself by doing so with most of the classes in the game.

Awakening Maegu specifically has cooldowns in the 5 second average range, with better mobility, protections, CC, and damage. They're comparable to Awakening Warrior, but their cooldowns are generally even lower. There just aren't any windows I can find for you to switch in and out of the main hand weapon as if you did you'd be missing out on any one of those things and a boatload of damage, which is why I ask.

Oh righty then....You seem to have made up your mind... As to what you've stated here, "better damage" sure, the rest are equal, protections are protections, ccs are ccs, mobility is mobility. Some of the absolute cc skills have insane range on maegu, literally the best in the game.
As for "I don't see a window" - that's all on you. I guess you never need the range [and are missing out on a bunch of potential CCs when your enemies are distracted] and never run out of SA cooldowns [so that you don't risk FGs].

Awa warriors, the good ones, use the absolute skillset as well [even for unprotected silly skills]. Just like most awa classes, and just like top Maegu Awa players [both in Aos and Largescale].

Just a hint, most Top players of each class are usually lurking on their respective class discord. Go there, and ask for more details on this topic. You can probably ask some of them to spar with you in BA [and match your gear] so that you can learn your class in-depth.
