(1. Level 49 -> 59)

I suggest that the PvP cap be increased from 49 to 59. My reasoning is that many PvE-focused players can't access much of the game being limited at level 49. It’s necessary to go beyond that level; however, this also makes it easier for players to be griefed by those who aren't so kind. The level 49 cap is very old and was intended to allow access to higher end-game content. In fact, I believe going from 49 -> 50 is required by MOEW. But the end-game has advanced well beyond that with the massive increases to AP/DP, etc. that you quickly obtain now. Valencia content isn’t exactly endgame anymore.

On the PvE side, this would allow players to access much more content than they can at level 49. It would enable them to grind for their infinite potions in peace, etc. The potion spots are not typically used for active money gathering nor experience, so this would be ideal for newer folks who don't have those very essential items. Of course, this isn’t limited to the potion spots.

This would also allow PvE players to become more acclimated to their awakening skills and weapons, along with easier questing and other activities the game has to offer without being harassed. It would prevent griefers from harassing newer players trying to become acclimated to the game,  get used to their awakening weapon/skills, or those doing lifeskilling and questing (along with potion grinding), etc. Players won’t actively need to engage with level 59 characters anymore at the higher end spots where overworld PvP should be more active (defending spots, etc.). Active engaging PvP wouldn’t really happen before someone reaches level 59. True endgame PvP starts at 61+ now, unlike when the 49 cap was placed.

On the PvPers side of the conversation, some of the feedback provided by PvPers who actively enjoy open world PvP, such as reverting the massive karma change, could perhaps be reviewed again to make things more fair and fun for open world PvPers. This would avoid brutally punishing the general public versus just those outliers who purposefully abused the system.

Admittedly, I’m a lifeskiller, so I don’t really know what a lot of the complaints are because they don’t affect me on that side, but for this to be a successful and engaging sandbox MMORPG,  PvP'rs deserve to still have their spot in the game too without extreme punishment.

(2. Dynamic PvP Zones)

I also propose the introduction of Dynamic PvP Zones to create a balanced experience for both PvP and PvE players. These zones would rotate periodically, providing an environment PvP engagements with enhanced rewards, while allowing PvE players to enjoy the game with minimal disruption.

Key Features:

  1. Rotating PvP Zones: Zones change locations regularly, clearly marked on the map, offering more rewards/higher drop rate.
  2. Enhanced Rewards: Increased loot, special currencies, and exclusive items for PvP activities in these zones.
  3. Safe PvE Areas: Outside these zones, PvP is restricted, allowing a safer environment for PvE'rs.
  4. PvP Events: Special events and competitions within the PvP zones to encourage participation (perhaps guild vs. guild or party vs. party skirmishes declarations for the zone with no Karma hit for players specifically in those zones.)

Benefits:

  • PvP Players: Dedicated areas for strategic and competitive gameplay with fresh, engaging experiences.
  • PvE Players: Large portions of the map remain safe for uninterrupted progression, reducing frustration from griefing.

This system will help create a healthier and more satisfied game community by addressing the needs of both PvP and PvE players.

Thank you for reading, and I apologize for the longer post!

I support section 1).

I'd need 2) fleshed out further before supporting it, but i think its worth exploring as a posibility.

for one, make it an even 60 that way people can use atleast SOME of their kit that requires going past 59, and i agree.

for the karma side of things, personally, leave the penalties as is but allow people to get their karma back up faster liek they used to. Karma should be basically similar to our pve marni zones imo. IE, if you go full red, you need to go grind for an hour to not be red anymore. This would make it fair imo since theyd be bound to the same thing we are bound to when we get upset over someone coming to our grindzone and killing. " well just go to marni! " Same theme will apply to pvp " Oh i just farmed you til full red, and now my gear can downgrade, imma go gfrind for an hour then come back and continue " This also incentivizes people *actually* partaking in both pvp and pve to some extent.

dynamic pvp zones is the best suggestion ive seen in fucking AGES.

I completly disagree with the Levelcap- Level 49 is fine and new player have Nocive Server to be protected from PvP. I just see an abuse with the Cap bcs you can grind with level 59 on almost every spot. And i personally still like to grind Pot Spots or Valencia Spots - i dont see the point of increasing the levelcap at all for it. Just will assist griefer to annoy player. We have enough penalities for PvP.

If someone has a Problem for Pvp we have also still beside Novice Server for new playeyr also the Marni Realm.

Strongly against 59 lvl cap. With gear you could go at any spot. How this gona work on arsha? Unkilable players..no thanks.
The other ideas are good. They could make normal servers alive again. But big no for Arsha servers.

I'm against it too. What good could it make to oppose overgeared lvl 59 to undergeared lvl 60 on a spot ? Why should one take more risks than the other, maybe getting killed by a random bypasser, while the other is free from such a worry ?

For a long time, lvl is not a good reference for the pvp activation. It should activate with a prompt screen when the character try to reach a definite gear score, from there, players can even push to 62 if they want to, as long as they don't try to grind on any important spot (even treasure spots).

I think the biggest issue with 49 is that you have to go really out of your way to be able to sail properly, otherwise, I think you have to be level 57. But, level 49 was fine when the cap was around 54 but they have raised the soft cap to 63 and hard cap is who knows what? Someone is level 69. (yes, yes, it's nice)

Also, with level 49 comes a lot of limitations, for example, you can't effectively do lifeskilling very well. This was likely done on purpose so you can't do something like florang skateboarding and other skills from other classes. 59 to me seems like a good number because realistically, at 60, that's when you start seeing PvP in the open world. Of course, Karma changes need to happen as well.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they increased the soft cap to something higher which would make 59 seem more reasonable.

But if 59 is too high, at least look into skills that would benefit life skilling and change the level requirement appropriately. I'm not making any suggestions, just talking out loud though. This would have to be thought out very carefully and see why/why not it would be a good or bad idea.

Level 49's are able to be killed in Arsha, no?

Only on anon arsha, not on normal arsha. Also some of the Lifeskilling restrictions for lvl 49ers are by design, like not being able to use cannons on ships.
