There's no reason why Splat Fisher's Clothes should be worse for fishing than a tailor-couponed Professional Fisher's Uniform.
Professional Fisher's Uniform (tailor couponed) gives:
+1 Fishing
10% Fishing EXP
Splat gives:
+1 Fishing
swimming boost.
Please make Splat better for fishing. There's no reason why it should be worse. Add at least 10% fishing exp.

The existing fishing costumes need to align with the new style AGRIS FARMING CLOTHES that were released this year.
So outfits like Splat Fishers should have the priority boost of the costume slot.

No, do not want this on the outfit.
Rare fish = yellow fish
Big fish = blue fish
Increasing either of those, decreases your chance at catching red (prize) fish.
If anything, add mastery.
