Much like AoS and Guild League, add RBF to the rotation where you get ranked rewards. There are many RBF changes players want to see, and you can use the season to try them out and find what works:
You can remove the point buffs/debuffs, random DP buffs when low health, etc. and see how the players like the changes.
You could increase the rewards, and if you're worried about people actually making money from doing pvp, make them [event] rewards like [Event] [Party] Harmony Draught - Human. Maybe an immortal one for winning the RBF and normal one for a loss.
