More statistics/ranking features especially PvP

People love pushing leaderboards. Well, not everyone, but many do. BDO has some interesting rankings already, but let's expand on them and rejuvenate them.  I am about to ramble on about some ideas for a while, so please feel free to skim or ignore; I doubt these ideas are particularly new; I just want to propose them as a person who wants more in these areas. 

  

1: Character Ranking: 

 

Right now, ranking is based on the current server, and shows the top 30 for a bunch of lifeskills, growth, RBF kills, Wealth, for currently logged-in characters. Please expand this to be family-wide instead of character, and retain or "cache" ranking info so that even someone who's logged off will still show in rankings, and be region-wide instead of server wide. This would be a huge change to how the rankings work but I think it'd be massive for the competitiveness of the grind in BDO for many players who can't help but compare themselves to each other. So, now the ranking menu will show families not characters. And it will be more consistent, so you'll always see the family who has the highest growth on one of their characters, or the family who has the highest cooking on one of their characters, regardless of what alt character of their family they are logged in on, or what server they are logged in on, or even if they are not currently logged in right now at all. 

 

Additionally, add other leaderboards for stats like "total monster kills" or "total enhances attempted" or "total quests complete" - more items to track is always fun, it could be a stat that you are interested in reaching the top on. 

 

And update "wealth" so it calculates based on marketplace warehouse or something more consistent - or please just remove it if it cannot easily make sense. There's no point to it right now.  

 

Finally, provide an option for your family to opt out of display on the rankings, for your slot to be occupied by "Unknown adventurer" instead of your family name. 

 

 

2: End of Nodewar, GvG summary statistics

 

Currently for PvP, Nodewar has a cool menu in guild that shows various sortable columns of data - kills, deaths, structures destroyed, etc. It is visible to players in the guild, on the server the war was on. Also, GvG shows a small kill/death counter on the declaration button in the guild menu. 

 

I propose seriously elaborating on and expanding GvG and Nodewar statistics. First, break kills down to killing blows & assists for individuals. I think a lot of players chase their kill stat above all else and maybe if there was an assist stat as well, they'd calm down a little bit, plus I'd be curious to see that breakout anyway. I would be proud of a member who got 20 assists but only 2 kills, but right now they might feel discouraged because they see the guy with 20 kills on their team. Players are used to other competitive PvP games that provide far far more analytics and detail at the summary/score screen after matches. BDO the Next Gen MMO needs to provide more feedback for PvP players, too. Besides just breaking kills into Kills/assists, I'd like to see more detail on "special" moments. Can the game recognize when a triple-kill or a penta-kill happens, and somehow point out that a particular player got the most kills in the briefest time, or what player on either team had the most kills, etc? 

 

We're very limited on what stats we see on our side of a war, but even more blind on what stats we see on the other team's side of a war. In general I just want more information at my fingertips.  I'd even like to see stats like, "This player from this guild killed the most people this whole nodewar" or "this specific player killed you 25 times this GvG" - even if some of these stats aren't direly important or super useful, I'm only throwing suggestions at the wall here, the point is I want more, more detailed statistics and reports from wars, because it is so fun to read and analysze and see the feedback of who did what, whatever it is.   

 

 

3: War History

Next, I'd like to see histories and journals. What nodes did a guild own, when? Which guilds fought at a nodewar on a specific date, and who lost/won in what order? Wouldn't it be awesome if we had a bunch of data about which guilds fought for which nodes, when, how many players aprticipated -- we could examine this thoroughly as a community and keep much better track of what is really going on in the overall nodewar scene. Some community-minded players might even take great advantage of this expanded info to write war-reports or have more detailed podcasts describing the happenings & current events in BDO warfare, because this much data could be available to shed light on current events. It would be neat to know, and it would make things easy to talk about - Can you imagine the level of player engagement that rises up from having this data to look at, scan through, and talk about? Or the potential value in being able to refer back and say, "hey who was at this war at this node 2 weeks ago -- oh let me actually check the War Journal, I can see exactly who was there." 

 

When we have this record expanded, can we then have a more comprehensive ranking system to try and measaure how good any particular guild is at winning nodes? Perhaps asswign every guild a ranking value like an ELO, and then we'll see Nodewar rankings where some guilds rise in rank and others drop based on who they beat at nodes, who they lose to at nodes, and we'll have SO MUCH CLEARER information on what guilds are in the nodewar scene, how they stack up against each other, etc. It will make thew scene more accessible for newer players who'll be able to look at guilds and see which ones they'd like to try to join based on requiremenets & track record.

4: Guild Ranking

The guild ranking page sorts on a variety of factors like, territories controlled, member count, guild points. I'd like many many more details on Guild Ranking. 

First, there's the main regional guild ranking page that ranks guilds. I'd like to expand this with new data like, not just guild member count, but tell me the overall lifeskill fame of the guild's membership. Tell me the average of every member's highest leveled character's level.  Basically, give me information about the members of a guild, kind of averaged out or in aggregate somehow. Give me more hard data to see what kind of guild each guild is in the rankings. I should be able to sort the guild page by "show me the best guild by farming skill" or some silly query like that. Anyway, this also achieves another thing: showing and allowing sorting by these details in guild ranking will further motivate members to increase their character growth and lifeskill levels, too, because each individual's increase is also a guild increase - player growth affects guild ranking directly, and everyone can take ownership in that and be prideful of that. For example, if you sort the guild ranking by character growth, the guild with the highest leveled main characters will rise to the top of the ranking, so this could potentially motivate players to improve their levels for the sake of their guild pride on the ranking!

 

Then I'd also like a ranking page that is internal to each guild. Yes we do already have the guild member page, but you know by now I just want more information. 

What if I could sort my guild member page by "highest sailing skill in family"? What if "highest gear score in family" was directly in the guild UI with no need for a discord bot? What if I could see a nodewar attendance record for each player in the guild member tab, without needing to track it in a spreadsheet? What if I could see a running average player KDR in nodewars & GvGs? 

 

Anyway I have rambled forever. I just want more stats please. More more more!

awesome ideas, that will never get implemented because the devs only do the bare minimum.
