Preordering pearl  items is not pay to win for the person making the preorder but it is supporting and condoning pay to win for the players posting said items and thereby converting real money into game currency, which by your own words IS pay to win. Logic is not your strong point evidently.

Correct. 10 000 VP preorders shows us the colossal advantage of having VP in the game, and the fact that you wrote noone cares about your purchasing power. That's why only in b2p games there is no p2w element because everyone has the same, and the only "advantage" comes from playing, not from money. When I compares the purchasing power and prices and I ask if they would buy fot that price, people knock their heads and say: never in their life.
Easy eg. new AAA game standard price = 60 USD. You would buy it for 250 USD or 400 USD (with season pass)? No? Why? I have such prices.
Without regional prices no one should use the phrase "it's only 10 bucks".

Look, people don't pre order VPs and just leave it there because it never fills, using VP preorders as a metric wont work, at least in NA.  People pre order other pearl items that has a chance of actually filling, because otherwise you are wasting your 1 pearl item order slot.

Actually this wouldn't work either, for the first time in a year I have had a pearl item that I want on order for more than a day, and usually I don't have a pearl item on order at all.  The pearl items in the shop are not worth my time usually.   I don't just go dropping huge amounts of money on the game, in fact I rarely do, but I look at pearl items from the CM as a how long do I have to grind in game to make that amount of silver, versus how long do I have to work overtime to buy the item outright.  Until Elvia was released it took 2-3 hours grinding in game to buy any pearl item, where as it would take only 15-20 minutes of OT to buy that same thing.  I would rather spend those 2-3 hours going for something else, and put in an extra 20 minutes once a month at work for a VP, or an extra half hour if I really really wanted that outfit.

I can't speak for everyone, but a lot of times the pearl items off the CM are not worth their cost in time to buy, so I don't bother buying almost any pearl items off the CM.

Counting players like that won't work ... anyone with any brain cells left will not waste preorder slot  on an item that has 10k preorders on it. Total waste.

People with enough VP that they simply don't to place orders wouldn't be listed.

People bidding on other items.

All of things are already included in the estimates, but they make a small fraction of the player base.  One could reasonably estimate that roughly 80% of the player base has a VP bid.  This would be based on multiple legitimate factors.  It also reasonable to estimate a fair portion of the players with bids on VP are no longer active or rarely play.  This is also based on real data such as the absorbtion rate of VP's.

Than why are there 10k peorders on it?

With that said counting pearl shop # isn't all that accurate. You have one preorders that never delete themselves so people could have pre-ordered the item quit a year ago an the item still just hasn't been sold to that inactive account. So if anything those #s could also show some inflation as well. Plus let also take into account alt accounts making those preorders to make it easier for their main to get the item by selling it directly to their main later when all the preorders on an outfit, or pet they want are gone.
